Expectations are premeditated resentments.

A two year old hit by a truck and left to die and ignored by 18 people, hunting to extinction, developmentally challenged adults locked in a basement for their SS checks, women sold like chattel.

Little over dramatic. Live your message, stop consuming resources. Do you know how much toxins are in your computer? How much fossil fuel was consumed to provide electricity to fuel your computer? Lighten up, dont talk the talk if you dont walk the walk.

People are not parasites, there can be a fair balance of humans and nature. What you have in asia are backward superstitions based on mythology. I personally beleive that any country that has a hsitory of not enforcing endangered animal rules should suffer economic consequences, and China is not EXEMPT.

You can be if you want. You can do that with Fish and Game right here in the US. Bear poaching is very common ... particularly in the Northwest.

Hunters kill the bear then sell the gall bladder on the Asian Black Market. Once again a traditional medicine, bear gall bladders, are believed to have magical benefits.

Most of the major national parks across the world have anti-poaching units. They are kept very busy and have helped with conservation efforts.

But, education is the key.

"Demand for rhino horn has surged in recent years among Vietnamese and Chinese who believe it can cure an array of ailments. Horns can now fetch up to $50,000 per pound (about $100,000 per kilogram), the WWF report said Tuesday. A small amount of ground-up powder can bring hundreds of dollars on the black market. Global demand has also increased in the last four to five years as some people have begun to consider rhino horn a remedy for cancer, Williams said."

Cast multiculturalism aside and proclaim it boldly: Asian traditional medicine is hogwash, which is pushing endangered animals to extinction!

If they all fall extinct, then they won't have any horns, right? I would think, if they adore these horns so much, why don't they conserve and protect the bearer of the product? No rhinos, no horns, simple kindergarten math.

Pushing Holy Creation extinct is evil. Man does not have the inherent right to push another specie designed for life aboard a miracle, extinct for eternity. Because man has the power to destroy so much is when he becomes the loving, appreciative shepherd of Almighty Creation.

When man pushes another specie extinct because of ecological ignorance, he truly pushes Earth closer to extinction in her ability to create and sustain all life. All of life is as interconnected as the strands in the web of life itself. This beautiful rhino was such a strand. The structure of man's only home is collapsing as voiced by countless scientists. The way of the rhino will be the way of man.

I do not wish to live on a planet with only my own specie. The Holy Ark must begin its journey.

we are also entering a biotechnology boom thats expected to be bigger than the industrial revolution or the digital revolution. Viet Nam's bad policy toward its wild life is throwing away potential billions in intellectual property. If they do not have compassion toward animals they should at least consider the four+ billions of years of free Technology R&D associated with each of these animals. biotech has the added advantage of blending in with the earths eco system (compared with old dirty industrial processes - or fake folk remodies)

This is devastating, it's hard to comprehend that we are facing the largest extinction crisis since the dinosaurs disappeared from our planet. If you are interested in solutions and groups that are working to save endangered species check out this organization: http://www.edgeofexistence.org/

Very sad. More species are going extinct while the human population increased by a billion in the last 12 years and will increase another billion in the next 12 years. This is not sustainable.

You are so correct. This rhino is biological diversity and held down a job and played a role in one of the Earth's ecosystems. Science compares the extinctions of biological diversity as a threat to man's existence, almost as dangerous as global, thermonuclear war.

Ecosystems and their biological diversity are what separates the Earth from Mars. Ecosystems and their native plants and animals are in the eco-nomics of oxygen releasing, the atmosphere, climate regulation and moderation, the nitrogen cycle and the hydrological system, the entirety of the Earth's biogeochemistry and a long list of Earth's life creating and sustaining cycles, functions and systems.

The greatest gift to man is the beauty and miracle of life that share in the glory of our Earth. What a miracle Earth was.
