It's very sad. As a BOA customer, it's been noticeable how desperate their employees are - they must be under severe orders to be as polite as possible. I walked into the branch yesterday, was the only customer and TWO male suited-up types greeted me - Hello! How can we help you! I was just making a deposit - and the teller, same thing, she was three feet away from the other two - Hello How are You How Can I help You!!

Unfortunately for them, Brian Moynihan is trying to conflate these decent people and their need to keep their jobs, with corporate malfeasance, Pay no attention to the corporate greed behind the curtain!

It almost made me feel bad that I am switching to a local community bank as of this week. Almost. BOA along with Citi, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan, Goldman, and the rest of them are all responsible for the loss of millions of jobs, and my own salary freeze and then cut, as well as everyone I work with.

Hopefully these good people will find jobs with growing small banks or credit unions.

Good for you. We've been with the credit union since 1983 and couldn't be happier. We will never ever do business with a TBTF bank again.

Hmm, let's so, so he's making $950,000 in salary and probably tens of millions in bonus money - but he's also laying off 30,000 employes in the coming months.
And what are his average employes paid?
What are branch bank managers, tellers, customer service reps, etc. that deal with the customers face-to-face on a daily basis paid?
My guess is that tellers are paid $30K per year, customer service reps about the same and branch managers, maybe an average of $55-60K per year?
So, if you estimate a $10 million bonus for the profits, he's earning 366 times the average employee at the company.
That folks, is why people are angry.
Everyone in a company plays a role in it;s success, yet you have one man earning 366 times that of other important employees who deal with customer on a day-to-day basis.

In most countries around the world the average discrepancy in wages between CEOs/Execs and average employees at their companies is 50:1.
Here in America that discrepancy averages 450:1

Stop attempting to say how much "good" you day, and pay your employees better and maybe cut your bonus or the bonuses of your execs in order to keep those 30,000 jobs, now that would actually be doing some good for the economy and the tens of thousands of other employees at the company.

I forget. Why is it that we shouldn't tax the s!@* out of incomes over a million per year? Self righteous jack asses believe that they are entitled to multi-million dollar bonuses on top of multi-million dollar salaries.
All hyperbole aside, would 50% on income over a million or two to maintain our system of capitalism be so burdensome to those who have so much and have gained so much from our system of captialism? Yet, we are to bow down before them and praise them for they are job creators and patriots.

Man up, dude, and look at the big picture, like stand in the shoes of someone who was sold a fraudulent mortgage and is now in foreclosure.

You hogs need to back away from the trough.

Do the banksters know the gruesome details of Gadhaffi's last moments? That should make any oligarch stop and think.

Next he's going to be claiming like Goldman Sach's CEO Lloyd Blankfein that bankers do "God's work".

there should be no bank of america
10:36 AM on 10/26/2011
The bank is insolvent today and was insolvent in 2008. It needs to be put into receivership and sold off/liquidated, just as we do to smaller banks that fail. We need to stop this two tier system of treatment and justice. Bank of America is NOT above the law.
