They arent going to ask that any more than they will investigate Senator Obama obtaining a 1+ million dollar grant for the hospital Michelle worked at which immediately raised her salary from just over 100 k to over 300k "because she was such a valuable employee". She was so valuable and her position was so important that the hospital has yet to fill her position even at her intitial salary.

Enough with the ridiculous finger pointing from those clearly affiliated (read: Afflicted) with either of the train wreck parties...

In the end? Who cares which party, which administration, which belief system led to this happening???

We The People want it looked at hard, and if anything criminal occurred the guilty MUST be prosecuted if only as a deterrent against future crimes against Americans.

Either way, the details of this decision must come to light so we can properly express our displeasure with those responsible and remind them the citizens of these United States will no longer put up with this!

$500B of OUR dollars thrown away, AND someone structured it so that the private (Read: Rich, greedy, selfish effers) investor stands IN FRONT of our tax dollars for repayment through the sale of Solyndra's assets. I cannot find another instance IN HISTORY where this was allowed to happen.

So quit allowing the biased media to whip your 'side' into a frenzy and send you towards the other 'side' in attack mode...

Don't forget virtually ALL media outlets are owned by so-called 1%ers and have a vested interest in keeping focused on each other instead of THEM! Let's demand they get to the bottom of this for our collective sake..

Doesn't matter which 'side' you used to be on, come join on OUR side!

Actually, if Obama is guilty of substantial charges, he should be impeached AND be forced to resign. Clinton was impeached but he was not forced out...for lying under oath.

"Republicans don’t, of course, want to yield their “chew toy.”

Republicans blasted Obama administration officials Wednesday for green-lighting a $535 million loan guarantee to Solyndra, a now-bankrupt California solar company with close ties to the White House.

The GOP attack at a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing focused on emails they said showed the White House tried to rush a final decision on Solyndra’s financing so that Vice President Biden could announce approval of the loan guarantee at the September 2009 groundbreaking for the company’s new factory. …The Hill"

That's a lot of tax payers' money spent. Who ever approved this loan should stand up and explain it to those whose money is GONE. It is not a Liberal vs Conservative thing. Lets see why the money was "invested" in a company whose chief investor was a BIG fundraiser for Mr. Obama and whose business plan showed that they planned to sell a product for less that it cost them to manufacture it. Inquiring minds..... Something smells bad here.

"Once taxpayer money was involved, the Obama administration was reluctant to let Solyndra fail.

What critics fail to mention is that the Solyndra deal is more than three years old, started under the Bush Administration, which tried to conditionally approve the loan right before Obama took office. Rather than “pushing funds out the door too quickly,” the Obama Administration restructured the original loan when it came into office to further protect the taxpayers’ investment."
11:43 PM on 11/03/2011
Under GW's administration the loan application was sent back and NOT approved. When Mr. Obama appointed his people to the DOE, it was approved within a couple of months. When the company filed for bankruptcy, Mr Obama's administration THEN restructured the loan to protect his BIG campaign investor ahead of the US taxpayers. Those who handled the taxpayers' money have all pled the Fifth Amendment so as not to incriminate themselves about what happened to the taxpayers' money. Smells bad and has Mr. Obama's fingerprints all over it. It must be really tough to find ways to apologize for Mr. Obama for all of his failed policies?

"December 2006: Solyndra Applies for a Loan Guarantee under the 1703 program.

Late 2007: Loan guarantee program is funded. Solyndra was one of 16 clean-tech companies deemed ready to move forward in the due diligence process. The Bush Administration DOE moves forward to develop a conditional commitment.

October 2008: Then Solyndra CEO Chris Gronet touted reasons for building in Silicon Valley and noted that the “company’s second factory also will be built in Fremont, since a Department of Energy loan guarantee mandates a U.S. location.”

November 2008: Silicon prices remain very high on the spot market, making non-silicon based thin film technologies like Solyndra’s very attractive to investors. Solyndra also benefits from having very low installation costs. The company raises $144 million from ten different venture investors, including the Walton-family run Madrone Capital Partners. This brings total private investment to more than $450 million to date.

January 2009: In an effort to show it has done something to support renewable energy, the Bush Administration tries to take Solyndra before a DOE credit review committee before President Obamaz is inaugurated. The committee, consisting of career civil servants with financial expertise, remands the loan back to DOE “without prejudice” because it wasn’t ready for conditional commitment.

March 2009: The same credit committee approves the strengthened loan application. The deal passes on to DOE’s credit review board. Career staff (not political appointees) within the DOE issue a conditional commitment setting out terms for a guarantee."

"Facts?

What emerges is that a bunch of Republican donors and allies had invested in Solyndra. That is probably the motivation for the Bush administration’s support of Solyndra. So the loan originated during the Bush administration and was passed along for renewal to the Obama administration."

Hey Doobie...Here's the difference. The outside investors were investing "their own money". Mr. Obama "invested" the taxpayers' money and got a lot of campaign money as a result. If you Liberals don't see this as wrong, what is the reason for the "occupy" mob to try to separate businesses from campaign financing? We all know the answer. Laws and ethics don't apply to Liberals.
11:56 PM on 11/03/2011
Wrong.

There is no such thing as a loan renewal... Bush laid ALL the groundwork, and tried his best to get it approved before he left, but it was APPROVED by the Obama Administration.

Not for nothing? themoderatevoice has a noticeable lean to the left... just sayin'

As the Bush/Cheney White House claimed so well........ EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE. Add to that the the process of the Solyndra loan was begun while Bush was in office and the the laon was made just 6 weeks after Obama took office. The GOP ignoring the timeline won't mean it doesn't exhist.

Really? Hardly. The Senate Committee Republicans, 10 of which were in office when it came before their committee for approval and then voted to approve it, should subpoena themselves.
10:43 PM on 11/03/2011
It was turned down while bush was in office. The original application was submitted in 2005 right after Bush approved the program. They knew it could not make it. the loan was too risky.

Tell us Ms Degette, why is it "an act if irresponsible partisanship" to try to get to the bottom of how half a billion dollars slipped thru washington's fingers so easily. As long as its not your own money what do you care, you are just being a bigot!! I want to get to the bottom of this and put the people in jail if possible!! Are you afraid there are some payoffs and or campaign contributions that might show up and make your party look bad???

I don't hear you crowing about the 600 million dollars Bush spent each day by starting a pointless war in Iraq and Afghanistan for 10 years.

http://www.berkeleydailyplanet.com/issue/2011-03-30/article/37580?headline=Cost-of-Iraq-Afghanistan-and-Libyan-Wars-and-the-California-Tradeoffs
(SNIP)
The total dollar cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan so far exceeds $1.171 trillion. The taxpayers in California will pay $21.8 billion for proposed total Iraq and Afghanistan war spending for FY2011. To place this figure in perspective, this money could have provided 7.5 million low-income people with healthcare for one year or 14.7 million low-income children with healthcare for one year or 7.8 million homes with renewable electricity -- solar photovoltaic for one year or 2.5 million Head Start places for children for one year or 283,672 elementary school teachers for one year or 234,012 police or sheriff's patrol officers for one year or 2.6 million scholarships for university students for one year.
Thats just California's contribution.

The POTUS is trying to put America back in the renewables industry, where we should be a world leader not a follower.
11:59 PM on 11/03/2011
We crowed against that war then...

Live in the now!

Let's not let our party loyalties let us lie to ourselves... They wasted OUR money and we need to all be on OUR side to get to the bottom of it... Drop the Red vs. Blue and take up for the Red, White and Blue!
