come on big gov, you butt into everything else, why won't you move your butts and legalize weed already? most of you have smoked it, some still might be, put the hypocrisy away and let people, especially those in medical need, get the comfort that marijuana provides.

and think of all the tax$$$$ you will rake in. get big pharm involved, and nobody stands in the way.

cept for those still in reefer madness mode

Nixon started the 'schduleing' of drugs without any laws being passed. It's just a matter of placing pot into a class IV classification. OTC

I don't understand why people do not know this. Any drug can be made legal or illegal by the FDA.

They can't have it, it belongs to "We the People"
01:25 PM on 11/08/2011
......and by continuing the nonsensical
stance they are fueling the drug cartels
by letting them be the main supplier
of marijuana into the US....

Americans are going to smoke pot, if
Big Pharma were smart they'd be developing
strategies to take advantage of it's impending
legalization......more and more Americans view
pot as a harmless drug...

Let's skip the frills and get to the core of the issue. A person has a right to decide what they want to do with their own body. Anti drug laws are just like anti abortion laws, no one has the right to make decisions about what another person does with their own body. People bungi jump and go para gliding all the time. People climb dangerous mountains, explore caves and ride motorcycles. They jump out of planes using parachutes and ride enraged bulls for fun. Others can approve or disapprove, but they have no right to intervene. Government has the responsibility of warning consumers about dangerous products like booze, cigarettes and pot, but they do not have the right to make the sale and use of those products illegal.

Amen. Just one correction: Marijuana is not a "dangerous product."

You're close to 100% correct, except there is nothing dangerous about cannabis.

Unless this guy is willing to let his daughter, who he knows is using a federally illegal drug, go to jail, he is a hypocrite. It is well past time to get our drug laws out of the 1930s. He knows it helps his daughter. There is NO reason to keep cannabis from people who are suffering. Or any adult for that matter.

The failed drug policies of the last century should not suffocate the rights of cancer patients to anything that helps them cope with this disease. In this case, the feds need to leave the decision of legality to the states.

Obama!'s has a background in conditional law, He should see these suits are not without merit. The constitutions a short read and It's clear the People first, then the states, then the federal governments will. Hope at least one of these suits ends the madness.

Good for Briana. Whether someone is a Democrat or Republican, this is really about States Rights.

Why is our DOJ after California, Oregon and Montana in the past four weeks?

At this point, the States are giving the patient their rights, and the Federal Government seems to want to take it away.
