Just imagine where the economy would be if the it did not have to contend with the GOP's obstructionism and machinations - their refusal to support any job creation program, their threatening of a U.S. financial default, their enabling the downgrade of America's credit rating, their relentlessly overwhelming the American people with fear, etc., etc.

"Related" here is used as in the statement, "I'm related to Brad Pitt because we're both homo sapiens..." If they'd ONLY been actual jobsbills...sigh.

The problem is not Americans, its our own government and the huge corporations who want to control all the "wealth".
Stop corporate wealfare and get the government off our cash, and this country would again rule the world.

BOYCOTT too big too fail, they are the problem.

Agree with your assessment of our economic problems!

....not sure what you mean about America ruling the world. Lead the world economically?

"The economy seems to be in solid shape," said Alex Hoder, an economist at FTN Financial in New York.

And the middle east seems to be politically stable. and the polar ice caps seem to be getting colder.

I'm tired of hearing Republicans complaining that these gains are meaningless because they're small and slow to come. This is vastly more optimistic than many economists were about the state of our economy. Despite Republican lawmakers trying to make the economy and the nation a stagnant and struggling system, the American People have propelled us into growth. Imagine if we got the GOP out of the way, passed comprehensive reforms that protected consumers, helped people keep their homes, and reigned in the dubious practices of Wall St. In short, imagine if we went back to the booming 90's where we were last on top of the world. We can get there again, if only we can get the government to work with the rest of the country.

Obama: better than any Republican on Foreign Policy, has made more gains than GWB can only dream about. Obama is handed the worse economy on record to solve, try as he may the GOP fights him at every turn to help solve the country's economic crisis. Now the economy, for the past 5 months straight shows signs of recovery and the Republican Party has nothing positive to say except show their utter contempt for the President of the United States.

Hip-Hip-Hurray! Startup to the next crash which will come as sure as the Sun sets in the evening. Our economy is not a "free economy", it is a "masochism economy for the masses".

This is a nightmare scenario for the GOP. Especially with the cast of clown shoe wearing characters running against Obama.

Now their new/old leading candidate cant continue to blame Fannie and Freddie for the collapse because he took 1.3 milly from them.

The economy is recovering with absolutely zero help from the right side of the aisle. In fact it's recovering in spite of the GOP. It shows just how great this country really is. An entire political party is working against a recovery and it still cant be stopped.

The GOP played themselves this time. Too greedy too soon. Their only hope at this point it what they have already started doing. Which is attacking voting rights, redistricting to create GOP seats, eliminating voter registration drives and same day voter registration, closing polling stations to make it more difficult to vote, and not having extended hours to vote even though in tough economic times people are working longer hours.

How someone can be a proud member of this party is beyond my level of comprehension.

Who could have imagined that this news (that the country's economy is showing signs of improving) would be un-welcome news to the GOP? The fact that it will be is a pure disgrace! These people are the most unpatriotic group of so-called Americans we've ever seen. It's not about what's best for this nation, but all about what's best for them and their sponsors, who reside in the 1%. Any average American who votes to keep these people in power in 2012, should renounce his/her US citizenship.

With a glut of unsold products, production is cut back, profits decline, capital accumulation halts, economic recession results; As the glut clears, the ecomomy starts to improve, before the next capital bust begins. (Marx)

I don't think we are near that yet. This article seems like propaganda spin with the facts having more to do with the sub economy of the 1% than with the overall economy.

Don't let the republicans in the House of Rep. find this out or they'll put a end to it.
