Personally I like Kim K. I have to admit I'm quite shocked by the outrage over the casting but I guess we all have the right to protest. I don't know if he should have casted her in a movie when so much of his targeted audience is this upset. Time will tell if he will make it through this.

I really can't understand the hate and total outrage some people have toward Kim Kardashian. There have been many other reality show personalities who have done some things that the public doesn't like, but for whatever reason, they don't get the hate that Kim K. does. To me, it's all entertainment, and in the grand scheme of things, we don't know Kim personally to actually make a intelligent statement to who she is. A small part in a movie that will not make or break the movie as a whole, seems to be a lot about nothing. It sure as hell won't make me not see the movie. I like Kim and I like Tyler Perry.

I like KK and her family, don't really care for Tyler P. will watch his movies on DVD if someone else is buying. However, I don't understand casting her for any other reason than to capitalize on her infamy. She's a reality star not an actress. I think that's what bothers so many about her...

As a black man, sometimes I am very disappointed in Black folks. As a race we preach inclusion, creative freedom and respect. Yet, if is something does not go our way then we don't want to include any other race, we don't want great writers like Mr. Perry to have creative freedom and we don't respect his vision and ability to make choices tha will reach diverse audiences. We can't ask to be part of the conversation and then turn the conversation into black only. If a writer chooses to make black movies for black people only then that is okay, we should respect that. If a writer decideds to write a movie that has a black theme yet reaches other audiences then we should respect that. Black people stop segregating our talented, creative and successful people. Let them continue to open doors that have never been open before. GO MR. PERRY!!!

Look you know this is all about the GREEN,Kim is hot right now and can fill the seats in the movie houses. What some people are trying to say is it is alright to have a dinner guest but make sure family is fed first(taken care of).Why get diappointed in black folks as you say. They are the last hired and first fired so you have to understand where their coming from. They see unjustice all the time, they see how Obama is treated ,they see how they are abused by society in so many forms, they have been left out of so many things, and they pay taxes like everyone else. They were there for Tyler when he had nothing,so they want their voice and feelings to be heard, blackmen have a bad history of over looking their foundation which is and always have been the black women. That is why when most black men make it they try to take care of their mothers first. We do respect his vision,we just want to be in his vision

"blacĀkmen have a bad history of over looking their foundation which is and always have been the black women"

Really how is that? I don't know why men are so anxious to trash themselves and each other. In all honesty we should be asking is how men are being treated because last I checked it was not consistently good. When men don't even recognize the struggles men have dealing with difficult women. This situation is a good example of out of control behavior and men should step in to tell women to stop hating and deal. Women need stop feeling entitled worship. We live in a world where mutual respect is needed not groveling by one party to appease the other. This means KK does not need to apologize for being hot or fake as if celebrities were ever known for realness. Tyler does not have to apologize for picking a likely box office draw to star in a movie, if anything black women should cheer him on and be happy this black man is doing so well. We cheer for Oprah and she caters to white folk all day everyday. The senseless hating needs to stop. We should be hating these thug wanna be's making us look bad, at least that would make sense.

I agree with you so much. We are our own worse enemy. I Love diversity period. "Black Movies" Don't always have to have an all black cast. I Loved "The family that preys". Even so called "White" films have black people in them. personally I think their hating because kim looks GREAT! She is a beautiful lady that portrays herself as 'White". And they hate it. Stop hating.

Lakrishi the point is not about her race. Kim is no actress, she's famous because of a sex tape. He has Christian themed movies and it's a slap in the face to his target audience.
06:48 PM on 11/20/2011
Um, news flash... Kim K is white, but that's obvious and not the problem. Everyone has their own opinion... She's not an actress and Tyler P. by his own words is casting her to cash in...

Tyler Perry has the right to cast whomever he desire in his Movie. He does not have to explain and/or apologize. Those who don't want to support it . . . don't; and those who will support it . . . great!

For the life of me I don't understand this un-natural hatred for a woman that most of US don't really know. The woman plays a role on reality TV for god's sake; it's TV. People keep saying that she is irrelevant; apparently not because commentary's such as this proves differently. Call her what you like, however, at the end of the day she is a beautiful, wealthy woman and guess what? She has the satisfaction and glee of knowing "YOU ALL" signed that fat check.

It is not just because she is a woman ,Look when a group has been held back for over 400 years ,they have no time to pull other groups up.This is common behavior among all groups. Some races can make it on all sidesand some are told their from the wrong side. Do you think julia roberts would be in his films. It ain,t all about a fat check, some women have pride and are not willing to put anything in their mouths for a fat check.

And that is where the glee stop. People are no longer willing to sign that fat check. And i'ts not a black and white thing either as so many tried to suggest. She is right now experience a backlash. It's not only the sex tape, but also the credit card where she tried to rip off her own fans. Tyler is not the only one hearing this, but so is E-television. There is a petition going around to get her and her family off of E and it's not the black women that created that petition.

When the stars of the Hangover said they refused to work with Mel Gibson...did they have no life? Do you think if Steven Spielberg cast Mel Gibson in a movie right now, do you think there would be no response from his fans?

It's a big deal because it's important to people. If it's not important to you, then you are free to move on.

If the litmus test is what's real, please assure me you've never commented on anything entertainment related...because NONE of it is real. Anxiously awaiting your answer.

Mr. Perry is like the Koch brothers and their cottage industry, the tea party. He has grabbed a certain portion of the populace, found their weaknesses and dreams ... and he helps magnify everything they hold dear. He takes the Jesus theme, and uses it as the answer to every question in every weak plot line. He intersperses over-the-top slapstick humor, rather than subtlety, to make sure everyone knows where they're supposed to laugh. His movies have different titles, different songs and a few different actors, but you can give a synopsis after 5 minutes of any of them. I have no problem with the casting of Ms. Kardashian. Mr. Perry sees an opportunity to make a few more dollars and he's going for it. Good for those who will be seeing his movies.

Here we go again. Find something wrong with those who are doing something positive. When will we black people learn, we are only 13% of the population. If one wants to continue to grow then one must strive to reach different audiences.

When a group is only 13% of the population ,they are targeted and usually are powerless,so they must stand united. How are you defining growing,i hope not by $$$$$$$$$$$$.Pimping and growing are two different things.Tyler will pimp kim,kim will get paid a certain salary and tiger will put her out there to fill the movie seats, and lionsgate will get 49% of the profits and tyler will get 51%,amn that ain,t growing that is modern day pimping.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I could not have said it better. The anger is NOT about RACE it is about how she became 'famous' in the first place (sex-tape). No self-respecting parent would want Kim K to be a role model for their daughter. She is the 'Paris Hilton' of the moment! Blacks are disappointed and hurt just like Tyler was/is whenever his movies are classified as 'buffonery' by the movie industry's greats. When Tyler was homeless/sleeping in his car his 'people' - black women in particular - gave his work credence and provided him an opportunity to share his talent to the world. As a reward, he decides to insult our intelligence by taking the stereotypical stance that we are angry, just because we have the audacity to question his motives in casting KK. No matter how he spins it, Kim K will NEVER be a role model and that is TRUTH!

Tyler Perry has lost me as a fan for good!!! Yeah! and he could consider me a big loss because I was an avid Tyler Perry fan and staunch supporter who not only attended every one of his last movies, but made sure at least 10 other people went to his movies and spent their money too. I mean Kim Kardarshian, I would have more respect for him if he hired a hoe off of the street....or maybe the same amount of respect now which is none!! It sickens me the way many Black men "fall all over this woman" feeling so flattered and worth something because she "f*cks black men."

This writer has never criticism Tyler Perry's movies, none of them, in which they make black people look stupid, he stereotype black women, and black people in general, his movies make fun of the black church, I mean they are stupid, and black folks, including this writer, never have any criticism for Tyler Perry's movies. Casting a white woman in a movie, what is the problem? It is not any worst than his movies making black people, look like studid clowns.

Kim is NOT WHITE and it is not about RACE it is about how she became famous in the first place. She is NOT a role-model anyone should be looking up to, regardless of how 'paid' she is or how 'paid' he thinks she can make him. I'll bet not one Kardashian could name a Tyler Perry movie prior to him hiring her.

What's the matter with you FACHINGREALIT? Kim is WHITE. But you're correct, it's not about race. Kim's claim to fame is a sex tape. Tyler is trying to get a more diverse audience. But most white people DON'T want to see a movie with Kim in it either. So you are going to lose many of your original fan base. I hope it's worth it Tyler.
12:24 AM on 11/19/2011
It is not about casting a white woman in the movie because if that were the issue then there would have been an uproar when he casted Kathy Bates in one of the lead female roles. The problem many African Americans have is that he casted a woman in the role that many of us has grown to despise. He has always casted actors with a career of substance like Loretta Devine, Taraji P. Henson, Alfre Woodard. These are women that many Sisters are proud to support. It seems as though you've never read a newspaper because both Black people also criticize his films and his use of so called stereotypes. May I remind you of the Spike Lee backlash a year ago with regards to his film. The biggest problem with casting Kim Kardashian is that he wants us to support not just him, but her empire as well. Why should we support her when she has done nothing to support us? Tyler Perry broke away from the mold to create a platform for African Americans to engage in. He has not made us into clowns, but has put a mirror infront of the community, so that what we see in that mirror is ourselves. Is Kim Kardashian really the person we want to look at when we stare into that proverbial mirror?

P.S. Start reading a book because your post among many on this board sounded ignorant and uninformed as to what is really going on.
