That's really sad. I try to believe that everyone is good, but with stories like this, it's getting harder and harder to keep believing. I feel really awful for his family. No deal is good enough to pass over a person in need.

When I was raising my family up I never participated in black friday, (I refuse to even capitalize it as a holiday) and so they do not shop it either. I have refused to be in a cattle line just to get the latest gizmo for the kids. If people would refuse to shop it retailers would have to change their ways. But that will never happen as there are too many greedy and mean folks out there to keep it going.

Ignoring and older man who is dying is disgusting and depraved. Keep Shopping America -- all is well. Don't worry about not having a savings. Corporate Wall Street owners need your cash to buy more luxory goods and see their investments grow.

As a retailer I always said this season brings out the worst in people.  For all I care, they can do away with this holiday or rename it.  People fight over the silliest thing like taking Christ out of Christmas, or don't call it Holidays, anything to provoke a fight!

Black Friday shouldn't exist. All it does it just make people more greedy, idiotic and unaware. They act like wild animals. I know many of us are having a tough time with money but humanity should not be put aside. R.I.P poor guy.

Black Friday is not the problem; it is how people raised their children 10 and 20 years ago. Anyone who would step over a dying man to keep shopping is depraved and soul-less. Banning black friday will not change that.

The US Media attacks Christianity left right and center. People are being steered away from Christ's message

You mean that whole prosperity preaching thing that those who are poor probably deserved it, or do you mean actually heeding the reported words of Jesus in the NT, and embracing the principals of social justice?

There are lots of self-proclaimed Christians who disagree adamantly with the Jesus of the New Testament. If not on economical issues, then on social ones. For example, Jesus preached against divorce (there are no less than 6 NT citations), but there are an awful lot of good Christian recidivist divorcees out there loudly preaching against homosexuality, and lobbying against gay rights.

When I see ads from "Focus on the Family" type groups, that talk about camels and eyes of needles instead of the gays or abortion, then I'll allow that those people might have something to do with Christ's message.

"there is no legal obligation to come to someone's rescue, only a moral one"

So this is what Christmas comes down to in this nation the GOP fervidly insists is the most Christian?

The media black lists people who call themselves Christian. The Media's agenda is to lead people away from the moral lessons and humanity of Jesus. This fits in perfectly and must be pleasing to anti-Christian corporate and hollywood Wolves.

Seriously...Target's policy didn't allow employees to help the man that collapsed on Black Friday in their store...how sad is that! What is wrong with people...the customers that passed by in such a need for items that meant nothing compared to a man's life; and Target's policy that is absolutely ridiculous!!! Makes me think twice now about going in a Target store or even shopping at one.
My condolences to his family!

You should read the story above and then comment. Not sure how this is Target's fault.
The guys wife said that there were nurses shopping that day and they all helped with CPR until the paramedics showed up. HuffPost once again fabricating headlines!!
Can you read?

I'm not sure aside from calling emergency services and clearing a small safe area for him, and assisting with emergency workers getting to him, you expect from most Target floor employees.

Many people are not human. They are vermin.
04:49 PM on 11/30/2011
The wife only refuted the claim that no one came to help. Though six nurses came to his aid, people still walked over him. People have gotten desensitized. Tragedy is the new comedy on television.
04:43 PM on 11/30/2011
I don't know what other peoples reasons are for not helping strangers, but mine is because they can sue me later! If you give aid to a stranger, it is legally possible for them to blame injuries on you, then you get sued for helping them out. A lot of people know this and will do it, just to get that extra buck. So yeah, I wont help you if you seem to be having a heart attack in the produce isle or you're stranded on the side of the road-even if your cars on fire. That's just the way it is.

Well it's a definite that if you live long enough and you collapse "Karma" will be returned and we all probably will feel the same about you as you look up at everyone passing you by as you die. I just hope for your sakes that someone will call 911 or just say “who gives a crap” about this old man “so what” he should have stayed his old butt home!!! Oh and by the way you are a said excuse for a "veteran" maybe you should take that off your screen name, real "veterans" would act as callous as you....
