Obama just cannot admit straightforward that the Surge is working. A lot of hemming and hawing today is all I heard. His popular judgement was wrong, McCain's unpopular judgement was right. Americans admire an underdog who turns out to be right. Please Obama, admit the Surge was the right decision and do not rob our soldiers of the praise and success that they so richly deserve.

Mc.Cain's judgement to get us into this friggin war was right? Give me a break. There is one winner of this war: Iran. We have given them the biggest gift in the world.

a) Dame Judi Dench
b) Kevin Kline
c) Kevin Nealon
d) All of the above

Gotta go with C.

Tom Cruise would have been a better choice.

CNN just said that the generals here are not in agreement of the 16-month timeline. We must understand that 1) All the generals might not have been asked; 2) The ones who might have been in agreement were probably not factored in; and 3) They speak for B anyway, so who cares what they think?

I don't trust anybody speaking on behalf of B. Obama spoke with clarity and made a helluva lot of good sense to me. That is definitely the man to be president and I'm sure B is crapping in his pants trying to figure out how to NOT let that happen.

Contrast?:

"In Manchester last night, there was just ONE reporter and ONE photographer waiting for Mc.Cain as his plane -- a white, blue and gold Boeing 737-400 emblazoned with his campaign slogan, "Reform, Prosperity, Peace" -- touched down on the Wiggins Airways tarmac. "

Now Barry is saying that Iraq needs a political solution. DUH!

The whole point of the surge was to reduce sectarian violence and provide security conditions where such political progress is possible.

Now that we've won that hard-fought security, Barry is already looking for the first opportunity to abandon it. How this may impact that security situation doesn't even enter his mind.

If security deteriorates as a consequence, oh well. If that political solution never materializes as a result, oh well.

Barry only has one goal, and that is to pull our troops out as soon as possible.

My thought upon watching Obama's comments to the press: is America ready for a president who uses the word "colloquy" while speaking extemporaneously?
02:22 PM on 07/22/2008
You are so used to the illogical, trivial, and dumb speeches President Bush utters, that you feel threatened by the word colloquy...Is that a good measure of Obama's political preparedness?
In a very extemporaneous way, you reveal yourself as an inhabitant of Crawford TX: Dumb.
10:57 AM on 07/22/2008
Thanks to the wise judgement of McCain on supporting the Surge and its success, it was Obama not Osama that was able to give a press conference today in Iraq. Obama would have given our troops defeat. McCain gives our troops and all Americans a feeling of pride and success. Yes sometimes the old underdog quarterback wins the hearts of Americans over the flashy, hot shot quarterback who the press adores.

O'bama, the most dominant force in British politics

Now, isn't that interesting? Contrast that with the fact that Mc.Cane is no longer the most dominant force even in Arizona.

I'd rather have someone leading the country who is proud of America. Barry takes every opportunity to blame America first, even when others are directly to blame for problems. Afghanistan is one good example of this, where the way France and Germany have broken their promises to send troops there have created the tenuous situation today.

Barry completely glosses over that fact and blames America and Iraq, even though we've met every obligation and promise to NATO in Afghanistan for years, and have even gone above and beyond to pick up the slack for others.

Portraying America as the world's doormat may make Barry "popular" around the world, but I'd rather have someone that can acknowledge reality and defend America when we're in the right.

Provide CREDIBLE links to statements by O which "blame America first" for anything in either Afghani_stan or I_raq.

Be very specific.

Is it any wonder that they're lining up to listen? Obama's like the emberassed dad who has to explain that while he was out, Junior got smashed, stole the keys to the car, and went on a drunken rampage in their neighborhood.

Sorry he smashed all your windows and did donuts on your lawn... but this will NEVER happen again... and Junior WILL be punished.

Oh my God, the press confrence in Jordan is great! What a difference from the Bush/McBush press confrences!
This on its own is worth the price of my vote. Logic and thoughtfulness combined with knowledge of seemingly all subjects that are presentedto him. He does not stumble over such tough questions as, how about the insurance for Viargra and not birth control?
I hope this press confrence is shown to our students to give them an example of reasoned thinking and the lack of the paranoia of the last 7 years.
Yes he will lead us in a manner which we can appreciate instead of be embarassed like the Dixuie Chicks.

I am blown away watching this press conference with Obama. It's like a cool summer breeze listening to a guy who thinks, who is measured in his response, who treats his audience and the reporters with respect, who correctly uses a word like colloquy.

Please let us have him for President, please.
