Certainly not the worst show on the tube, but it was very frustrating to watch for a lot of the reasons mentioned. When you watch a show and start muttering during a scene "how can he/she/they be so dumb?" more that a few times, you know the writers were on cruise control.

Both sons in the story were totally annoying, I kept hoping a TRex would take them both out.

Sure there are some plot holes and they could do better, but overall, I like Terra Nova. Sometimes shows need a few seasons to get it right. As far as the Sixers, I really like "Mira" and don't think she's one-dimensional at all. In fact, a lot of her compassion surprises me. As far as the Shannon family, I think they've come a long was since the first episode. I say give it a chance. It has great promise.

Not the worst, but VERY disappointing I would agree. The show seemed to hint each week that something really interesting was about to happen, and it never would.
And yes, the dinosaurs are put into the plot backseat. Imagine a talky 'Jurassic Park' where you hardly ever see the thunder lizards.

After a day walking around in the woods it was pleasant to sit, relax, and enjoy a show without phony wannabes or other egomaniacs screaming or singing at me.

I think it has great promise, they need the SG writing team to come in and help.

I don't think it's the worse. Up all Night got one viewing from me and I think New Girl got less than that.

What a great show and special effects were well done.I can't stand reality shows and this was a breath of fresh air.I would enjoy it even if it came out in a book.

that is so sad! I read about this show a year or two ago and was kind of excited about it. dinosaurs? the FUTURE. you have to be trying to make that boring. :P

If you just imagine all the characters as The Simpsons toons it's actually a pretty funny show. My dream scenario for the show is Fox doesn't pick it up, SciFi channel buys it, fires all the writers, and salvages what could be a decent series.

Watch Alphas.

IMHO, it's the best show Scyfy has had since BSG.

SyFy is even worse than FOX at handling Science Fiction. If it's good, they say it's too expensive and cancel it. If it's bad they cancel it to make room for wrestling. Remember when the SciFi Channel was fun? It's been a while.

Though I don't hate it and I still watch in regularly, I've developed no care of for the plot and cast . . so I'm latching onto the concepts. I don't care for the main family, they don't drive me and partially annoy me. From the second episode on I've been wondering how well this show would have been handled on the Science channel or another cable network like Starz or HBO. On Fox, this is very paint by numbers. It doesn't feel grand, it doesn't make me awe like discovering the universe shows do with the science aspects, it doesn't draw me in on the family segments or segmented family. I haven't even touched on the conflict brewing. I can only hope for a shift in direction and better directing/acting/story because they've already stumbled with the premise.

We are talking about Fox right, this is the network that killed one of, if not the best sci-fi series on TV. (Firefox)

I made my family watch the Firefly marathon the Sci channel just had on.

For me, Firefly is the best sci-fi series ever.

What I hate most about this show is that it had such a great concept. But the terrible writing, ridiculous plots has made it a joke. Maybe people don't agree but I was really hoping for this to be a great show and it failed badly.

You know, there just hasn't been an interestingly compelling weekly drama since "Lost" left the airwaves. I was hoping "Terra Nova" would fill that void and perhaps another season would help out. Perhaps relocating it in a better time slot would improve viewership, too.

Try watching Person of Interest. Also Once Upon a Time. If you have cable there are plenty of great shows.
