They blame the headphones people are using for the lack of sound quality the people are experiencing, when they totally disregard that those people (Including myself of course) are listening to MP3s!!
Yeah, of course the headphones you're using make a huge difference, but come on DR. DRE, you work hours in the studio and you complain about the headphones we use with our Ipods? You need to complain about the Ipods we're using with with our headphones!

Yeah. It's so funny seeing people with $200 headphones listening to mp3s. People act like the mp3 business is so great, but the big players don't cater to discerning listeners at all!

I wouldn't want to wear any kind of noise-cancelling earphone/headphone anywhere but at home - just for safety, and/or sociability's sake.

That said - i always thought it strange that quality-obsessed Apple provided such bad earphones with their pods - essentially a disposable set.

I got a pair of Bose IE2 earbuds. They sound pretty good, and the vulcan-style tips hold them in place while running or biking. I wonder about other high-end earbuds though - any favorites/suggestions ?

There is another solution: put cotton in one's ears and shut out most of the noise. It is a cheap solution, too.

If Dr Dre wanted people to get the full experience, he would start by asking them not to listen to mp3. Buying $100 headphones to listen to a lossy format like mp3 is ridiculous. Dre's headphone sets are for poseurs who don't know anything about music.

Maybe if someone who a) makes good music and b) didn't have a financial stake in selling high-end headphones would provide a recommendation, I'd take it more seriously.
