I love everything David Bowie. It's impossible to think of one song, but let's add Cracked Actor and I just listened to Bowie's rendition of Cactus (oridinally done by the Pixies). Happy Birthday Mr. Bowie and thank you for all of the joy you have given me.

I have always said that Bowie is to the 70s what the Beatles were to the 60s. My fave solo artist. Put me down for Moonage Daydream and Starman, TVC 15 and What in the World.

I remember I was twelve and still listening to the Cowsills ( Hair) lol, when my big brother Richard brought over a few songs for me to hear. One was Space Oddity and the other was Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. I was forever changed and music has always been a huge part of my life. Happy Birthday David. I was lucky enough to see you a few times in concert, and will never forget you. What are you writing these days ? Love to you and yours, Beth

I bought a CD of Shirley's hits mixed up into cool "modern" dance music a few years ago. It's great! Happy Birthday Ms Bassey. Cool never ages.

Along with your excellent choices, I would add "Wild is the Wind" and "Let's Dance" (the versions on the bonus 3rd disc of Bowie at the Beeb), "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide," "I'm Afraid of Americans," "Fame," "D.J." (from Lodger), and maybe as a finale "Never Get Old" because for me he never does. Happy Birthday, Mr. Bowie, and many happy returns.

All-time favorite: Moonage Daydream. Not sure I've heard TVC15 mentioned yet. *LOVE*

I hesitate to make a list - it would take up too much space. Happy Birthday David Bowie. My 11 year old daughter lists you as an inspiration. Because she is into Rock and Roll, you're a big part of our listening and not only for nostalgia's sake!

Ah, "Panic in Detroit." Love the Stones-like guitar. I have it on my MP3 player when I go out to run, and it always makes me run a little faster.
