A clever way to refocus the sectarian chaos away from Shia'a president Al Maliki who wants to hang on to the reins of power is to find a plausible scapegoat in the person of Sunni Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi. As Prime Minister Nour al-Maliki said recently, there can be no security without political stability. Given that his critics accuse al-Maliki of upsetting the delicate political balance within the Iraqi government by ordering the arrest of Vice President Tareq al-Hashimi, his words ring truer than ever. ....When most Iraqis are asked what their main concern is, "security" tends to be the first answer, then followed by electricity, water, jobs, and healthcare. Yet security is the foundation upon which the rest of the infrastructure can be built, so ongoing attacks across Iraq, and the chaos they bring, do not bode well for the future."

The anti Sunni purge has commenced. Soon Iraq will Anschluss the eastern third to Iran.

Bush-Cheney and the neo-cons at the AEI chose Ahmed Chalabi to be the "New Iraq's first president." And we knew there was trouble when he did what amounted to a touch-and-go landing in Baghdad on his way to Tehran to receive marching orders from his puppet masters.

The Bush and Obama administrations' propaganda asserts Iraqi nationalism will win out. Getting a whole lot less press since BEFORE the invasion is the idea that Baghdad's Shiite loyalty to Iran will be the reality. Looking at the way women, Christians, secularists, and academics have been killed or marginalized over the lat 9 years has me believing in the less publicized scenario.

This proves that left to their own devices, Arab/Muslim countries soon lapse back into civil/tribal wars. The Middle East extremist view of religion is the root cause and Bush's fake war was the wrong way to handle this problem. Israel is again not to blame for any of this. The Arabs and Muslims destroy themselves on their own.

Well, the Jews, Arabs and Muslims have been fighting each other for thousands of years, so I don't look for any improvement. You're right "FAKE WAR."Just cost America billions of dollars and many, many, many American soldiers lives. THANK YOU, MR. BUSH.

It was the christian serbs who started the civil war against the muslims in Bosnia, genius.

Brilliant move on the part of al-Hashemi. He dragged the Kurds into what is really a struggle between Arab Sunni and Shiite. If they cough him up they can expect Arab Sunni retaliation. If they don't they might have to fight the Iraqi military which is heavily Shiite. As to the veracity, I'd say he is guilty. Baathists are doing everything in their power to get contol back. AQI is the creation of the Ba'ath party. It masquerades as something greater, but all it is Ba'ath terrorism.

it is about Cheney .. Iraq is the battlegound for the continuing Sunni/Shiite conflict.. The complete arrogance of Cheney and his ilk were not sophisticated enough to understand even the most basic tenents of world history ..

Iraqi shiite government's devilish plan will never be able to be successful ask the Prime Minister to Run rivers of Blood and swim in the river ask Iran also to contribute some blood to keep the dept level. Sunni's are not yet on the field stop now or will have to pay the price for generations.
