The guy is clearly just a meat-head that was angry that his Bruins were getting whooped up on by a bottom-feeder team.

No need to use the terms "meathead" and "Bruins fan" in the same sentence- that's just redundant.

Oh...you are soooo witty. No wonder you have so many fans!

The guy was most likely one of those fans that go home and beats his wife and kids after his team loses. What a jerk !

Dou.chey move by the mascot, but humiliating response by the meathead fan. Being remembered as "that guy who tried (and failed) to beat up a mascot" probably wouldn't be very flattering.

I probably would not have resorted to violence, but I would have been really mad had that been done to me. What is so funny about spraying silly string on fans at a game? Take that sort of childish play to kids' birthday parties.

You people are way too focused on the silly string. The fan didn't know immediately what it was. What he did know, was that it was being done to physically harrass and embarass him as a visiting fan. That is harassment and not a very good business decision as the representative of the Lightning organization. Technically, if you throw water on someone but say it is acid or urine (for example) you can be prosecuted for assault. It's the "intent" of your actions and words.

Hopefully the fan recieved a full refund for that game and any others he paid for but now doesnt want to attend .and anyone near the incident tat was interupted from enjoying the event asked and recieved a refund as well.

Buy a TV or go to game and eat string from a YagTeletubbie, Schadenfreude.

Technically, it is assault...if you look up the legal definition. But why be so humorless? That's what angers you? Silly String? It seems to me that if more people got angry less often, didn't take things so seriously that are not actually serious...laughed more instead of being angry and bitter, their lives and the lives of those around them would be a lot more fun. Brush it off, shake it off and watch the game....there are far more worse things to be offended by than Silly String, so it would seem.

The silly string thing was maybe taking it a liitle too far.....but no one should flare up like that guy did! It's not THAT big of a deal. The mascot should take in consideration, however, that some people out there can't take a joke!

You get that many dimwits in one place and something like this is bound to happen.

Silly string? Really? As a teacher I let my students use this product all the time. It basically pulls off the material and washes out completely. The "fan" isn't a fan.... he's someone who can't appreciate a HARMLESS prank.

Harmless? Could hit someone in the eye. Also keep in mind that the stuff is flamable.
