Yes, asking the rich to pay their fair share is pathetic! Which, Boehner really thinks that raising taxes on the wealthy is pathetic then he must think President Ronald Wilson Reagan was pathetic since the 1986 tax reform act under Reagan raised the capital gains tax from 20% (Still higher than the 15% of today) to 28% and shifted the burden of tax revenues from individuals to corporations. The Bill also exempted millions of low-income earners from having to pay federal income taxes....Seems like Republicans rarely bring that up when they talk about being more like Ronald Reagan.

Under Reagan's second term the economy added over 10 million jobs, a bulk of those coming post the 1986 tax reform bill. Under Clinton's first term when the capital gains tax was 29% the economy added 11.5 million jobs. In 1997 Clinton reached an agreement with Republicans which saw tax rates drop across the board for top earners in exchange for children's health insurance but even then the economy added another 10.5 million jobs under tax rates much higher than today. Bush, who massively reduced tax rates for top earners in 2001 and 2003 didn't even add 3 million new jobs over his 8 years in office.

“Last week, House Speaker John Boehner’s office released a video that tried to make the case to build the Keystone Pipeline. Mr. Boehner has taken millions of dollars from oil companies and is personally invested in the Keystone XL Tar Sands pipeline.”

Change is coming, Rep Boehner.

Tell your richy-rich disconnected 1% buddies in congress.

Even more pathetic, John, has been your term as speaker of the house.

Pathetic is Boehner crying, again and again, and again at the drop of a hat... except when the subject concerns the suffering of others.

"It seems a shame,' the Walrus said,
To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!'
The Carpenter said nothing but
The butter's spread too thick!'

I weep for you,' the Walrus said:
I deeply sympathize.'
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes. " Lewis Carroll http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/173170

Does anyone seriously doubt that in his pillow talk and whatever private conversations he has, the Boehner is happy that Rep. Gabby Giffords is unable to return to Congress. Boehner's remarks covertly contain his pleasure, and his failure to visit her speaks volumes.

Boehner reminds me of a particularly prune-faced old nun who taught in my grammar school. He seems like he's trying to corner the market in arseholiness, but that would be hard to do in DC. Pathetic? He's the poster boy.

I would love to hear

"we have lived through 10 years of Bush Tax Cuts, no source of Revenue and unrelenting obstructionism in Congress to the point of them choosing themselves over the people and our Country.

We have seen what Bush's tax cuts do...only Corporations come out ahead...it's time we tried the Presidents economic plan. All I'm asking is for us to just try it, it won't result in anything worse than what we have lived though especially these last 4 years. You deserve more, you deserve to move forward, to find a job get back to what one time you called normal.

I'm not sure how many of you know how much my job depends on the actions of Congress doing theirs. We have lived through the most dysfunctional Congress America has ever had. If I can't get strong legislation out of Congress we don't move forward. Again you deserve better from the people you elect...I can give you more of what is necessary to improve your lives, jobs, economy
if Compromise returns to Congress.

From this day forward, when Congress has intentionally wasted the peoples time they will stay in Washington, in session, 24/7 until a compromise is reached.

The previous Speaker was never facing a tough re-election in her home district. Dear John has been catching lots of flak back home. He's in damage control mode.
