Who are his handlers? They should be fired. Falling 64,000 seats short of filling up a 65,000 seat venue? And then letting their "man" still go through with it? What were they thinking to not have pulled the rip cord on that?

But even then, ... even then ... NOT to have told him that the line about tree height is just not the least bit intelligent, humorous, humanizing, etc. ... i.e. remove it from  Read More...

Seriously Huff Po's. Do you think Americans give a fat rat's arse what cars Mitt and his wife drive? Breaking news...he's wealthy. So is just about everyone who ends up running for President, they're just not AS wealthy as Mitt is.

Latch your pathetic efforts to diminish his success down the hall under the entertainment tab.

If he didn't want it reported he shouldn't have said it. He's running for president, for Pete's sake. And yeah, it is important because comments like that just show how incredibly out of touch he is with the people he wants to lead.

You're right, nobody really cares. The stupid thing is that he flaunted it in the city he wanted to throw under the bus. BTW - his success iss from family money - he's a corporate raider and I really don't see that as any kind of 'success.'

If we look at Presidents of the past, the best ones had working class roots so they understood the average American. This guy not only has no working class roots, he has absolutely no idea how to speak to the average American. Not all rich guys are like that, but this guy is...

Mitt's dad once said:"Americans have four basic ways of solving problems that are too big for individuals to handle by themselves. One is through the federal government. A second is through state governments and the local governments that the states create. The third is through the private sector – the economic sector that includes business, agriculture, and labor. The fourth method is the independent sector – the voluntary, cooperative action of free individuals and independent association. Voluntary action is the most powerful of these, because it is uniquely capable of stirring the people themselves and involving their enthusiastic energies, because it is their own – voluntary action is the people's action"
He also turned down a huge executive bonus once while CEO of AMG stating that "nobody needed that much money"
So I guess the apple did fall far in this case

Mitt: "You see, I am like you humons. I drive a Cadillac automobile. Does that excite you? Yes, yes it does. Well, my humon wife drives--twoooo Cadillac automobiles. Yes, my friends, two. Meep zorp. What? I didn't say anything. You see, I'm just like you!"

Every time Romney goes by the Home Depot in his truck to pick up latino day laborers to work at one of his many houses he can be heard saying, "stay low and don't let anyone see you, I'm running for president for Christ's sake."

Mitt, I agreed with you when you said you don't need to apologize for being successful, until news of your tax rates and business practices emerged. Shame on me. This however, is beyond the pale. It's one thing to be wealthy and another to be a braggart. Shame on you.

Mitt's mouth. The gift that keeps on giving.

I think it's important to note how badly he handled this. If he'd just left out the number of Cadillacs that his wife owns, there probably wouldn't have been a problem. It might have sounded okay--"My wife drives a Cadillac--" Insert benign remark about the wife driving the more luxurious car than the husband. Easy enough, right? But noooope. Multiple Cadillacs. Good job, Mittens, making yourself more like all of us, with all our Cadillacs. MY Cadillac was on the fritz, but it's okay because I just used one of the other ones.

I love the worn Jeans , and the hokey checkered shirts. That's HIS take on what lesser beings wear. He thinks voters will find him, "just like them",by the clothes he wears. What an absolute Nerd he is. How STUPID he thinks everyone else is, and so gullible. he hasn't a clue how the average person lives, or what it is to struggle every day to make ends meet. Then he has the gall, to talk about how many cars, and Houses he owns, while telling people he feels their pain. BS.

I agree those who say that "Mitt shouldn't have to apologize for his wealth." Nor should average Americans have to apologize for how they feel about him. From most indications - what he says, who he accepts money from, who he's done business with and for in the past, he seems to be more concerned about a narrow set of interests in the US than average Americans in the US who work for a living.
