The real question is why not test our elected leaders.

They work for the people who pay their wages.

To suggest that because they are elected is a reason to not test them is of course the GOP method.

Okay to test you but not me.

Lets put it to a vote on the next ballot. "Should any elected person be subject to random and mandatory drug testing?"

"Being elected to office is completely different from being hired by a company or agency."

Did I read that right, you were hired by the people in your state, so go take a drug test!!!!

That's right! Politicians are elected, not anointed.
02:41 PM on 02/27/2012
Why not, they exempt themselves from a lot of things - including insider trading. They have created a whole new class in the U.S. - the legal crook class.
02:48 PM on 02/27/2012
Exactly. Policy makers, exclude themselves, The NRA, Bankers, CEOs, from many many rules the rest of us are jailed and or fined for breaking.

Oh, let's not forget the IRS - little people go to jail, big tax evaders go to Paris!

So, those most able to afford to buy drugs are exempt from being tested....
You can't make this stuff up.

Yeah, it's completely different than applying for a job. I mean, it's not like legislators go out of their way to get the job, or go through extra efforts to be chosen above other candidates, or the fact that they're paid by the state unlike state employees .... oh wait ...

No, no,no. If state employees must be tested then ALL state employees must be tested. Let's start with the Governor and trickle down to regular folk. If trickling down works for this like it works in the country with regards to the economy the workers have nothing to worry about. As we all know trickle down doesn't work except in the minds of the TP/GOP. Another part of the TP/GOP agenda that needs to never happen.
