These are great tips, but in order to do most of them one has to have a considerate employer - which most probably don't. Unfortunately, the notion that desk jobs must involve literally sitting all day long is prevalent. Flexible work options like ROWE, for example, would contribute greatly to employee morale and productivity while allowing more free time to focus on individual health.

Get Some Sleep

Learn how to take "mini-naps" at your desk. Tip your chair back and close your eyes for a few seconds... it can help refresh your thinking.

brown-bagging your lunch

Generally, this is looked on as the key item that keeps you at your desk during lunch. It is way to easy to just set there, keep working, and munch away on the lunch you packed. Getting away from your desk is critical to maintaining a healthy mental attitude. There is more to life that a carefully designed, calorie controlled brown-bag lunch.

"a cluttered workspace can significantly hinder your productivity and mental clarity"

What cr@p. People who need a neat and clean workspace have a serious problem with their ability to keep multiple tasks in their mind at the same time. They suffer from "linear thinking" and will be generally unable to think "outside the box".

The ability to multitask has been shown to be a myth. You might think you're multitasking, but you're just fooling yourself.

How the heck do you type anything intelligible while walking on a treadmill? It seems like a good idea (for those who could afford it) that would not work so well in practice.
