The comments today are pretty funny... The prevailing sentiment seems to be: "who cares?", but there were also some real characters contributing their opinions. One writer said of pixey Gwenneth Paltrow's cook books - "why would I buy a cookbook from someone who barely eats?" Touche' For entertainment, the "comments" can't be beat today...thanks for having this mechanism, HuffPost. It can be downright therapeutic to write sometimes, to get a tangle of thoughts sorted out, or release tension in a barrage of adjectives and puncuation - about some issue which is near and dear...I think it's almost always more interesting than the stories about which they comment!

I agree. Maybe it's a bias, but a good cook can't be stick thin and adhere to a rigid diet to stay that way, and be a good cook and author a book about cooking.

Makes perfect sense to me. You wouldn't employ an obese person to sell an exercise program, same principle! And if it's high 'metabolism', or genetics that keeps these gals pixie-thin, someone ought to figure it out, put it in a jar, and sell it!

Why would anyone doubt Gwyneth, the Wonder Woman ? She acts, she sings, she hosts SNL, she designs clothes, she cooks, she writes. No one can stop Gwyneth. We can only hope to contain her.

If Adolphs Ochs were alive today he would be aghast at what his once fine newspaper has become. "All The News That's Fit To Print" has become "All The News We Can Make Up To Fit."

Nobody cares. Just keep on with the recipes. Nobody gives a damn who wrote it.

Platrow's short tweet includes a grammatical error, so I doubt she wrote much her cookbook.

A ghost writer is paid and directed to produce text to be used by someone else. The purchaser may use or revise the text as they please and then release it (printed, published) as their work.

"Paltrow detractors are pointing to a dedication to Turshen in "Daughter" that says Paltrow could "not have written this book without the tireless, artful assistance of Julia Turshen, who stood over my shoulder at the stove and chopping block for the better part of a year, bringing a method to my freestyling madness.""

I don't consider that ghostwritten. I consider that co-authorship, co-creator.

And some may consider that a mentor or supportive friend.
