I would rather these poor animals did NOT go to war. I'd prefer our people didn't either - but they have a choice.

These dogs are true heroes. Let's hope they were treated as such when they were done.

These dogs are more than just a dog. They live for you. You make a move and they look at you waiting for a command. Nothing better than a good dog to have your back. They simply impress with loyalty. They live and breath they're handler.... They deserve more credit than they are given. They save lives on a daily basis...

I'm definitely going to buy this book. Thank you both to our soldiers and their dogs for the service they have provided. I don't understand people that can abuse something so precious, the only thing they ask for is love and give unconditionally :-)

Another species sacrificed to Bush's "war time presidency fetish."

What about Obama's "war of necessity??" As he's called it, You dont think dogs have been sacrificed for that joke of a war???
10:16 PM on 03/20/2012
I wouldn't send a dog to a made up war like the ones we're involved in now, it's taking advantage of their cooperative nature and loyalty, and they don't understand it's all about corporate interests.

You've got to appreciate the dog for what it's trying to do, but it's really no way to treat a dog, and it only adds to the obscenity of the whole adventure.

What about Obama's "war of necessity" as he calls it You dont think any dogs have been sacrificed for a country that dont even want us there??

Many of these dogs return severely traumatized and shell shocked, let's hope they're treated better than we treat our Servicemen and Women..!

These dogs are gun broke at a very early age. I've always made that priority raising Shepards. If they are gun shy, they can only be a pet. If you wait to long this is what can happen. You have to shoot around them at about 8 -10 weeks of age. They will more than likely cower at first, but it's all down hill after that 1st shot....
