I love D.A. and I like Chevy Chase, and if Danny is doing this because he needs the money I hope it gets off the ground. Otherwise I would rather not see it. Sketch comedy is tied to its time. I am virtually certain that had there never been a land shark or bass-o-matic, and they ran those on next week's SNL we would all be here Monday trashing them. I don't see any way that a scripted SNL reunion would be anything other than a train wreck. sorry.

What? Anthony Michael Hall has a pretty open schedule. Call him. If you want to mix in a little Robert Downey Jr. then go for it. Not Ed Helms.

I would love to see an SNL movie where everyone who was a cast member make some kind of appearance in the movie. They could even get Steve martin even though he wasn't an official cast member.

I'm looking forward to this! I hope that somewhere in it, they have a moment to remember and acknowledge Gilda Radnor and John Belushi. I can still hear her nasal voice saying, 'This is Rosanne Rosannadanna..." and John's 'cheeseburger, cheeseburger.'

Sorry, but this could not possibly be a valid reunion without the presence and participation of John Belushi. That would be like having a Beatles reunion without John Lennon. You people need to call this farce anything BUT a 'reunion'. Sigh....
08:53 AM on 03/21/2012
We still have reunions even if someone has passed away, and they are not a farce for the living.

How could anyone forget? These fab four will be remembered 100 years from now like Bach and Beethoven. They still are fab forty-two years later after their break up. Amazing!.

I agree! Would be so cool to start out with as much of the original cast as possible, and then introduce others into per the order they appeared on the show. And, of course, remember those who are no longer with us too.

I miss Gilda Radner, God rest her soul. She was a very very funny young lady. I have her CD.

A two hour movie with nothing but footage of Chevy Chase sleeping would be 100X funnier than the mindless Hangover type movies made today.

Chevy Chase was good at physical comedy 35 years ago, but (as Lucille Ball learned to her chagrin) nobody wants to see old people doing that sort of thing because we worry they'll injure themselves. And Akroyd is far too old to update his classic: Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute.

Some things are better left in the past. Today's viewers are use to juvenile, infantile humor and will not appreciate or understand anything that is truly funny!
09:20 AM on 03/21/2012
Not true - People have varying senses of humor. Some senses of humor, like mine, are very broad. Some are very narrow. Just because someone finds "Hangover" amusing doesn't mean that they don't UNDERSTAND or appreciate other types of humor. Example: I laugh at new movies but I still love old SNL and older comedy movies. Mel Brooks is hilarious. I love sarcastic humor and dry humor. Slapstick is slightly less my cup of tea, but I can still be entertained by it.

It'd be neat to see a SNL throwdown, the older cast members verses the new ones.

I think Dan Akroid influenced his co star such as Bill Murray and Jim Bollucci and was himself inspired by Streven Martin and Martin Short, and the SEcond ?city comedy actors who are all good friends and share that unique humor that I feel is classic TV which merged into the cable tv revolution, but some try to be as erotite talented wise as these groups, and none except these seem to meet up to the success and fact eachone broke into individual film star stardom faster than - yet again, any other contract tv player equilty type actor, and year after year decade after decade and it still goes on, not even their guest stars seem to be as funny without their help. Maybe this is why each star if they have courage makes it to the top of actors /actrresses goals, and some most of course inspire to direct, ...I hope Chase and Ackrpoid direct a movie together some day. Tehy can do anything they want , born comics, with talent as great as they get.IMHO
06:17 AM on 03/21/2012
Dan Akroyd was not influenced by Martin Short. Akroyd was around many years before anyone even knew who Martin Short was.
11:30 AM on 03/23/2012
Now everyone knows Martin Short and no one knows or hardly remembers Akroyd....or as much. He was serious in Driving Miss Daisy, maybe we have yet to see his real acting skills...soar in his lifetime.
03:07 PM on 03/23/2012
Who told you that? Do you know MArtin or Dan? No, I doubt it, so it could be true. My favorite role of Martin Short is Clifford, although Hans in Father OF the Bride is a cool second:
Here's his filmography for you to remember he's hard to forget:

SNL could never have a reunion without 2 of the greatest original cast members, Gilda Radner and John Belushi.
