There are stupid statements. And then there's statements by Bachmann which are beyond stupid. What's the word I'm looking for? Ignorantselfservinglie. Yeah, that's the word.

If a person can't afford insurance that's one thing. However I object to having the cost for those who can afford insurance and refuse to, included in the cost of my care. It's not a roll of the dice for them at all.

And what if the person who can afford it doesn't pay up? Who do you think pays for the cost of collection?

Doesn't Michele have something more comfortable that she could slip into... like obscurity. That would certainly make me more comfortable.

She is so very wrong! Once upon a lifetime ago, when my children were young and I was recently divorced, I was trying to raise three children on a salary that barely covered our basic needs. I did not receive any child support, it wasn't easy to collect from a father who was not willing to pay. My employer did not offer heath insurance. For me to purchase a private plan for me and my children would have cost more than I made. I was without health insurance, not by choice, but simply because it was cost prohibitive.

This woman is totally out of touch and has no understanding what the average American life look like.

People don't have insurance simply because they don't want it? Like Romney, this is an out-of-touch person. Far too many people can't afford insurance. You'd think she'd know that much.

She knows, she doesn't care. The typical GOP I've got mine, don't care about you, there's no problem view. Or is it, health care would be fixed if we had tort reform view. The GOP really wants Bachmann out there speaking for them? And they wonder why their approval rates are in the toilet.

She forgot to say that she and Marcus are very worried because their clinic has Medicaide patients, and I doubt that they will be able to afford private insurance. Strange that these Republicans detest the programs that they've made a nice living off of.

"Obamacare is the greatest expansion of federal power in the history of the country."

Oh, really? Has everyone forgotten about the Patriot Act?

How short the American memory.

That's it. No more health benefits for elected officials. All employers are "passing increased costs" on to their employees if not dropping coverage all together. They obviously could give a fig for the citizens, we should give a fig and take their health ins away. If they "choose to participate", they can do so with the salary they receive. No more rides for free. If nothing else, it should be done as a budgetary cost-cutting measure. I'm sure fiscal conservatives like Bachmann would understand and support it.

I'm not sure why this is controversial. Many young, healthy people do decide to "roll the dice" - that is the reasoning behind the individual mandate.

They pretty much have to roll the dice when they look at the costs of being insured!

Ah, if everybody had the Cadillac health insurance that she has as a benefit of her Federal employment, they wouldn't have to roll the dice, now would they? She is so pitifully d+u*m^b it's frightening that she's a member of Congress.
12:48 AM on 03/31/2012
She has got to be the most ignorant member in Congress. Has she asked ANY of the 40 million? I think not. If the people in her district vote her in again...all I can say is they deserve her. I mean...Mon Dieu!
