If I bounce a check, I don't think the business will give me a pass 'cause it was a goofy thing.

Most businesses will accept payment (in cash) for the amount of the bounced check and any bank fees IF you are forthcoming and contact them as soon as you are aware the check bounced. And, most businesses will present a check twice before coming after you. It costs them more to prosecute you than to do this. However, if you have written a large check and make no effort to make good on it, you can bet the local law will be looking for you.

He bounced checks when he was in Congress too.

What do you expect from a man who bounces moral checks over and over?
10:30 PM on 04/11/2012
Gingrinch thinks he smarter than everyone else and he can't even balance his checkbook.....but he thinks he should be elected to lead the United States.

Must be Right Wing logic because it makes no sense to me

I agree that the Gingrich irresponsible behavior is disgraceful! However, it is as a person, nothing to do with "Right Wing logic." Irresponsibility spans the political spectrum; it is a shame to see how people like you must resort to political name calling when dealing with issues that in no way involve politics.

Thank you for your opinion. For you I went back and reread my post.
and not only does this Right Wing logic not make sense to me..your response makes even less sense.
The point is that everything matters and it says a lot about a man that bounces checks and leaves a trail of debt.
The good news is he wont be President so only his creditors need to be worried.

Why don't the goofy thing get out of the race and stop writing hot checks?!

I am thinking the bank didn't think it was one of those "goofy things".
Fiscally responsible adults do not bounce checks.

Exactly. My father will be 84 in July and has never bounced a check in his life, either a personal one or business check. And you don't close a bank account until you assure that all checks have cleared. I just closed my business account and I printed out my statement, pulled all the canceled checks and made sure every single thing had been paid. Then I waited 6 months just to be sure I didn't miss anything. I might be in my 50's but I learned my daddy's lessons well. It's called being ethical, moral and responsible....three things Newt will never be.

Let me see--He can't manage the money in his campaign, but he wants to manage our country's finances?

Mr. Fiscal Responsibility. Here's a hint, Newton Leroy. When you close a bank account, you must leave enough funds in it to cover all the checks previously written on the account. If you do not, you can (should) be charged with fraud.

You should know all about fraud.

this guy is so selfish that he is going to stay in the race to the convention and help Obama get back in. Smartest guy in the room but no temperment for the job.

This is the guy who wants to control the economy of the country?

Maybe he should take a job as janitor to pay his debts or sell some of the Tiffany jewelry!

Nothing new. In the 90-ies, the Newt was known to be an habitual check bouncer: http://tinyurl.com/76hmtva (U-tube movie)

Well, I would say I was surprised but, given his total bankruptcy in terms of morals and ethics, this just figures. I wonder what my dad, a life-long Republican, would have to say about this.....(my dad who, at 84 has never bounced a check).
