GOPTea are Anarchists

Is today backwards day at HuffPo? Sherrill, Republican, wants to make pot legal (good idea) and another article has Pelosi, Democrat, would sign bill that gets rid of Social Security (bad idea).

It is funny. A Republican thinking like a Democrat, and vise versa.

They seek every way to serve God and Mammon. I find the GOP to be the best definition for hypocrisy.

A republican wants to legalize weed? Wow, maybe Romney finally has a campaign. Of course all his supporters will forget to vote.

Nice except that the person who did the facts would have done well to understand the difference between "effect" and "affect" on the slide discussing whether MJ affects memory!

A short lesson from the Prohibition era...

When a 'third party' began to gain great traction against both the Democrats and the Republicans because they wanted to repeal the Prohibition Amendment, it was the Republicans that first co-opted that third party platform and acquired all those repeal issue voters.

This republican party is fragmented currently and not sure yet where it's going, so don't be surprised if such a maneuver is repeated sometime soon. I'm only sayin'...

NICE SCAM ABOUT THE VETS

If our president would come out

for making pot legal I would have

to wonder why you wer not a Demo;

since he is anti pot I understand.

Don't worry about the vets; let

them try to get a cojnviction.

With the difference being so small, the Democrats better hope legalization doesn't become a Republican plank.

Why not? If that is what it takes to get it passed, then that is what it takes. Heck, Democrats could suddenly come out in opposition, which would almost guarantee that Republicans would suddenly be in favor, write a bill, then pass it. And just enough Democrats could vote for it to ensure passage in the house, then they could do a similar thing in the Senate.

I've voted Democrat in every election since i've turned 18

I would vote for a republican though, if they made it medicinally legal

SOP for the GOP is to go against EVERYTHING (yes, everything!) that Obama says.

the GOTP should really be the champions of legalizing cannabis - BIG TABACO has been growing it for decades under the "research" blanket.

There's BIG MONEY to be made here, come on Republicans, end prohibition!!!!

The body that would forbid me to consume one drug, while simultaneously sanctioning and encouraging the use of a far more harmful drug, doesn't get to dictate drug law to me. I follow my own drug laws, ones that allow me to partonize the substances I choose, not chosen for me by the government, chosen for the government by industry. Most people in the country follow their own laws, the drug policy and enforcement is a pathetic charade that is laughed at daily by millions of citizens. And it should be.

This isn't very surprising since there are a lot of people on both sides of the isle who feel marijuana should be legal. If only Dems champion this issue then a lot Repubs would be throwing away a lot of votes. And no matter what politicians say or do, no matter what party they are in, they really don't care about principals, they only care about votes because if don't get the votes then you don't get the money. :)
