I'd vote for the IPad, then the Nook. Definitely do not like the Kindle. Hey, just my personal opinion.

Sorry, but I wouldn't buy anything that's name starts with an "I" nor will I buy anything that would go "Swoosh". They suck the life out of low wage assemblers and charge consumers outrageous prices - look at their profits - tells the whole story.

So, buy it direct from Amazon.com and save yourself the sales tax.

I don't know why it's attractive to purchase from a retail store. I have both a Kindle Keyboard and a Kindle Fire both purchased from Amazon. Besides saving the sales tax, Amazon has your Kindle all set up on your account and all you have to do is set up the WiFi.

That really got out of hand fast.

That might have something to do with why it's priced higher. The more curious question for me is why you buy so many devices with overlapping functionality?

Target mistake. My 'Fire' is ON fire. Why a corporate buyer would cancel on a product that sells is beyond me. If Apple is laying pressure on a chain store for exclusive rights, perhaps it is time for shoppers of good conscience and a worry about monopoly pricing to boycott Apple AND Target?
07:59 PM on 05/02/2012
I hear what you're saying but amazon is probably the worst offender in the business world of shady tactics and collusion, so don't feel sorry for them. We should be boycotting all of them.
05:53 PM on 05/02/2012
Of course it's the Apple deal that made this happen. This is how they do business.

For me, the Kindle is the very best gadget I've ever bought.

It has become a necessity for me. I can even read it in direct sunlight. Can't do that with Ipad.

Me too. I have a Fire and a regular Kindle. They are both hooked to my Amazon account so my hubby and I now read the same book at same time. It is wonderful.

I own an iPad and a Kindle Fire. I use Amazon Prime to buy books and movies much more than iTunes. Clearly I am one of the few and I feel quite good about that.

Don't blame me, I'm not a republicrat.

Nah, Amazon dominates the digital media market (with the obvious exception of music) so you are in the majority if you are buying books through Amazon instead if iTunes.

Actually, I am, we are in the absolute majority who have Cable Tv, Amazon Prime and iTunes.

You are right I was just making a comment to the article.
