The guts of Paul’s grand scheme, where its rubber hits the road, is in the all-important theme of cutting programs that benefit the poor and middle class. Despite all its window-dressing and spin, the heart of every libertarian plan for this country is a kind of mammoth subtraction: making deep cuts in programs benefiting millions of Americans, out of a belief that such programs are morally wrong.  Read More...

Ron Paul; would be the best candidate for the people but George Soros oncwe again has complete control over the election. I read that he has new voiting machines this year just as he did when Obama ran 4 years ago. I doubt Ron Paul will ever get the votes due him. He said he is swamped with supporters but no one seems ot vote , what does that tell you? I am waiting to see if the ovberseas vote will go through, they managed ot stop that four years ago too. Funny, Obama thinks he is so freaken popular yet they have to resort to all kinds of shenanigans to keep other candidates from winning. The troops said they will all vote for Ron Paul, they should have voted in the primaries as well. If they are allowed ot vote that will make Ron Paul President of the United States and maybe we can get back ot living in a real country again, I have already given up the movies , I dont' care what actors think or do, I'm just not paying for them to do it, the money train is over.

Ron Paul has shown his true colors.

He has no problem stealing votes.

He has no problem rigging the process for his own benefit.

And the fact that he's so open about it shows an appalling contempt for the American people.

Not someone I want for President.

The GOP has done election fraud during this entire primary and I do not feel sorry for them at all. They made their bed and now have to sleep in it. If they continue and Romney gets the nomination, Paul supporters and a large part of the Independent Tea Party along with the youth will not vote for him and he will lose. The only way I see getting Obama out this election is if the GOP wakes the heck up and nominates Paul. It is the only way. To all Paul delegates, rule 38 of the GOP primary rules states that no delegate or alternate delegate is bound to any candidate no matter what a state says, so you can vote for Paul on the first round at the convention. Research it, go to the daily paul and you will be able to listen to Ben Swan from Fox News talk about it. Spread this everywhere.

You know, the 'real' people of this country might just have their say after all. Why is Dr. Paul's consistent and common sense message making the mainstream media so nervous? Is it because Ron Paul might actually win the damned election and America's true voice really be heard? Is it because he will end the unnecessary wars, eliminate a couple of useless money pit departments like education and energy, and finally rein in the most corrupt of all entities - the Federal Reserve? Damn that man for doing the right thing; I am very pleased. I'm going to do the right thing in November - no matter what - and vote for Ron Paul for president of this country. I hope you will do the same.

The only way I would vote for Ron Paul is if he would finally admit Non-interventionism and Isolationism are the same exact policy and abandon such an ideas altogether. We tried it from 1919-1941 and it made a mess of the World.
09:46 PM on 05/04/2012
How are they the same, for example, when non-interventionism would advocate trade with Cuba while isolationism would advocate maintaining an embargo? With regard to military action, perhaps they are very similar. With regard to trade, diplomacy, travel, etc they couldn't be more different.

The problem we have today is that we have been conditioned to equate foreign policy with military.

So, I would respectfully disagree with your premise. Paul should NOT admit they are the same, for the simple reason, they are quite different.

Remember how ridiculous it was when Obama was going against McCain? It was 24/7 on Fox how Obama was linked to terrorists and muslims. They claimed and feared he was a communist based on his past.

I'm sick of the ridiculous anti-Paul comments that claim in the name of "property rights" and "capitalism" that every CEO is going to cut service from blacks. You all sound like Fox!

The old man just wants 4 years to end some wars and cut some spending, maybe we can open state owned banks and get our schools out of the mess they're in, we could nationalize the fed during this time. Sounds like a plan to me.

Quit mixing Paul's libertarian utopia with the reality of a Paul presidency. "He's going to end medicare! The poor people are going to starve to death!" sounds just like when "Obama is going to tax everyone to death!"

That is a GREAT reason to vote for him....but wait til you find out what he actually stands for & has consistantly defended & represented throught his 12 terms elected as US Representative from TX. i.e. - individual rights & liberties, constitutionally limited government, & a true free market & sound monetary policy (i.e.-end the FEd, etc)

Individual rights and limited governent and free marlets? Thats really scary stuff man. He must hate minorites and want us to live in a third world country or something. Hmmmmm, you apparently have no clue who the German National Socialist Workers' Party were.

True, many in the GOP/RNC fit their profile, but overall, the DNC is far closer to the economic, corporatist policies of Hit ler's & Mu ssolini's regimes. Both Parties are guilty of enacting tyrannical, authoritarian collectivist laws & acts upon us, such as the Patriot Act, NDAA, & Health Insurance Mandate, War-on-Drugs (just a few examples).

Ron Paul has stood against these tyrannical, unconstitutional policies his entire career. He is a firm individualist, not a collectivist. He will defend your rights & freedoms no matter who you are. He is against collectivism, whether it be White Nationalism, or Affirmative Action.

The People of Iowa have chosen Dr. Paul as their candidate. The GOP Corporatist Establishment are corrupt to the bone. They want to push a Rino with identical policies & voting record as Obama, because they will get their big-money kickbacks from billionaire bailout recipients like Goldman-Sachs. G-S, is Romney's, & Obama's Top Campaign contributer....coincidence?

You might be a Ron Paul supporter if...

16. You think the middle-class should have a higher tax burden than the wealthy, since Ron Paul’s tax plan would disproportionately favor the rich.

17. You want a President who would make more unilateral decisions and undo more progress in this country than George W. Bush could have ever hoped to accomplish.

18. You think that poor students shouldn’t be allowed to go to college, since Ron Paul wants to eliminate federal student loans.

19. You believe crazy conspiracy theories about globalization, and that the Zionists are trying to take over the world.

20. You think the 10th Amendment is the most important part of the Bill of Rights, even though it’s last on the list.

21. You’re mad at Obama because you believed him when he said he would end the war immediately, and he didn’t because he didn’t have the support of congress, but you believe Ron Paul could get it done immediately.

22. You think Ron Paul is leading a revolution, despite the fact that he hasn’t won a single primary.

You tell yourself again and again that Obama is doing the right thing. Obama caters to the the neoconservative right by continuing Bush policies and the far-left by promising endless checks every time somebody can't own a Ferrari. You refuse to recognize that we are broke! We cannot afford all of this! You heard it first from me when I say that the minute China stops loaning us money, WE WILL DEFAULT. There will be a chain reaction and right then and there, 40% of the budget will be toast. Entitlements are going to be slashed. The military will be gutted, but Obama will insist the troops remain overseas. There will not be a single penny to be lent to students. We may even see riots and civil unrest. You can mislead yourself all you wnat, but that is exactly what has happened to Greece. They got lazy, decided they wanted high taxes on the rich and 16-month work years, and went through all of their money. Then what happened? The government has to stop and people start rioting. You refuse to accept the inevitable, which will come unless we act now! History will remember the two sides of this debate as the side that wanted to maintain power by denying the truth and the side that wanted to save the country and tell the truth! That is all I can say. I cannot force you to stop deluding yourself, but I will offer you the chance to.
06:27 PM on 05/04/2012

08:16 PM on 05/04/2012
When China stops loaning us money? They won't. If you owe the bank a million dollars, the bank owns you, but if you owe the bank a trillion dollars, then you own the bank. That is what has happened here. The threat or possibility of a US default guarantees that China will have to do everything it can to maintain the status quo. America really is too big to fail. If the world economy were a body, then Greece is the appendix, America is the heart. No one really cares if the appendix is removed but the heart....well, that's different. Greece never really had any money of their own, because they don't have any exports to speak of, and tourism alone can't support a nation. The money they blew through were loans and they had no way to repay. It's really an apple to oranges comparison to compare the US to Greece but I do admire your fervor and I completely agree that the world stands at a crossroad.

You might be a Ron Paul supporter if...

11. You support guns on airplanes, since Ron Paul thinks that 9/11 could have been prevented, if citizens were allowed to carry guns on airplanes.

12. You oppose equality for LGBT people, since Ron Paul doesn’t think the federal government should guarantee equal protection under the law for our LGBT brothers and sisters.

13. You don’t have a problem with people carrying guns near schools, since Ron Paul want to repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act.

14. You oppose same-sex marriage, since Ron Paul was an original co-sponsor of the Marriage Protection Act in the House of Representatives, in 2004.

15. You don’t like having a good relationship with other countries around the world, since Ron Paul wants the United States to pull out of the United Nations.
04:55 PM on 05/04/2012
11. As far as I recall, he argued for "pilots" to have the ability to be armed. You disagree? Because that would have prevented hijackers ability to take over the plane
12. False and silly
13. Gun free zones - drastically more crime as per govt statistics. Are progressives/liberals allergic to data?
14. Marriage Act '04 - "oppose same sex marriage" - Wrong. It opposes federal judges from undermining one states' laws against anothers regarding same-sex marriage licenses. Incidentally, same provision in the Defense of Marriage Act that was signed into law in the 90's under Clinton receiving bipartisan support
15. This is downright laughable. Do I really need to list all the wars/conflicts the US has been dragged into because of UN resolutions? And do you really think we would be unable to trade, travel, communicate with other nations without the UN?
