Pretty much everything used to compare Obama to bush was out of Obamas hands and in the hands of congress. Especially funding the alternative measures needed to close gitmo and to end the patriot act.

saying that its about time Democrats fight dirty like the Republicans; level the playing field so to speak.

That's not what's happening----i believe you and few others are having a Sarah palin moment..
trying to deflect the facts----hoping Obama won't speak up about the facts that we surely don't know if the GOP would have gone after OBL...

I personally believe the GOP thought it was handy to have the boogie man record a message for all the victims of 9/11--personal or patriotic.. bush turned his back on him--defunded the possie--told the forces to stand down--let him slip into Pakistan--

Why are writers trying to create a narrative out of this that does not exist?

With all due respect, you are wrong. I also was not dancing in the street when Osama was taken out. But I wasn't unhappy. When your job is to murder thousands of innocent people, being killed yourself is an occupational hazzard. AND, I'm sorry, but W did NOT do anything useful to answer to all those deaths. Obama did. And why shouldn't he acknowledge it? He's the one who got it done. So, I'm sorry you lost your husband, but Obama is the only one who tried to see justice served.

Unfortunately, this woman fails to see how Americans are so offended at the kind of intolerance Osama Bin Ladin represents that his death is in fact, something to celebrate. This mass murderer, responsible for so much suffering (especially for women and non Muslims) was an anthema to everything we stand for. Just as we celebrated the end of Imperial Japan, the death of Adolph Hitler, and the end of Pol Pot------celebrating the end of this vile racist is in fact something to be very thankful for. It is black and white----this was an evil individual.

Obama did what Bush couldn't or wouldn't do. It took guts for our President to lay it out on the line, as any number of things could have gone wrong during the mission. It is a good thing we got Bin Laden, and an even better thing on Obama's watch.

An IOKIYAR Tactics keep WINNING and the whole Play-nice stuff keeps losing and your doing nothing more than helping The Republican win.

Amen, Kristen. Thank you for articulating what I have been feeling; I thought I was the only one. It's extremely disheartening to say the least. I've decided that all I can do is follow my path of non-violence and 'be the change'. Blessings to you.

Cheering the death of Bin Laden is like cheering the death of cancer.

You need to understand---i know the feeling----I believe it would be safe to say that we really don't understand everything about our foriegn policy and how it relates to our values---but how would you deal with the mandatory need for resources?

Resources that drive everything about our everyday lives,,, a job that requires a result that keeps things as normal and uneventful as possible---in order to keep that job...

Narratives for war aren't always perfect--but you do notice how that doesn't stop anything..
Could you imagine any other good reason to tell the world why we have to have control of that area of the world? Without losing the moral high ground,?

You want to punish Obama for claiming that particular accomplishment,,, i guess you have that right,, but it's better than keeping OBL alive to throw in your face right before every national election or vote concerning the military or security of the skies in America,,, in my opinion anyway..

What did you think about when OBL was allowed to address you on a regular basis?

I thought poorly of those who failed and allowed him to taunt you and everyone else in the country,,while Bush was busy forgetting him---he'd pop up for our ears only and we had a right wing president who did nothing about it.. It was the crime of the century--and no one said a word about it.

Where was this opinion then?

As a democrat I do not support this add, as a human being I find it sickening. Bin Laden did not fly those planes into the towers, just as much as Obama killed him with his own hands.

Hypocrisy is self-interest. Politics is self-interest with a veneer. The War on Terror is a half truth with a full share of profit.

GOP RIP 1854-2016 (rev: 2014)
03:01 PM on 05/03/2012
bin Laden was given the same due process he gave to his thousands of murdered victims.

An admitted murderer who brags about it is all the "smoking gun" I believe was necessary to end his worthless life.

Congratulations once more, Mr President!
