Like the song goes, "these boots (shoes in this case) are made for walking".... right out of the White House

From watching the video, you can obviously see that Zaidi was angry with Bush. Bush was responsible for the unnecessary invasion in Iraq, with caused unnecessary deaths. You have to admit that Zaidi has some real guts if he can throw a shoe at Bush and then bend down and throw another one. However, it was illogical for the Iraqi security guards to take out the journalist that said that Zaidi's act was courageous. At least they didn't throw their shoes!

I think the 'shoe throwing' was a abit out of order. Half of the world already hate George Bush. Zaidi just made Bush a laughing stock now because the shoe throwing video is all over the internet now.

I bought a pair of old loafers on ebay and sent them to White house as a gift.
Let's all send at least one old shoe to the white house before January 19th. Or you can send a pair, one addressed to Bush and the other addressed to Cheney.

George W. Bush (and / or Richard Cheney)
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Absolutely! I'm doing it. Soles to the soulless.

Those shoes. They just might gain a place in history along side Dorothy's shoes.

If you haven't seen this article yet and want a good laugh, I highly recommend "George Bush Bloopers & Quotes" on http://politicalnewsconnection.com/ (at the end of "US Government News"). Very, very funny (and a bit sca*ry, too).

BTW, Where was the Secret Service? This guy got to throw both shoes? I can understand that throwing the first shoe was a surprize, but the guy then bent down and took off his second shoe and threw it with no security preventing it or protecting the president. I think ust because they all go through the metal detectors that the presidential security team gets slack.

Also the on-scene reporter says "The shoe sailed over his head" as if the guy had bad aim, but she doesn't acknowledge that Bush had to duck twice to avoid being hit by the shoes.
02:57 PM on 12/16/2008
Kinda funny here. I almost think he could have had time to UNTIE his other shoe and then throw it. A little embarrassing for the Secret Service, I do think.
03:17 AM on 12/17/2008
It definitely is an embarrassment. I would say that it's a big one rather than a little one because it shows that the Secret Service are not doing their job properly.
01:11 AM on 12/17/2008
I totally agree with you. How could they let Zaidi throw two shoes? You would have thought they would have dived in front of him like the shoe was a bullet but they couldn't even safe him from it. What is the shoe was a bullet and it did hit him... what would the secret service say?

Is it possible that his own secret service doe not like him???

To all those asking what if it was Obama...If it was Obama, there would have been no shoe thrown.

Come on, this is not a fan booing a sports team, this is a real outraged person protesting the real deaths, injuries and massive destruction that has taken place in his country. The protest was directed squarely at the one man who is responsible.
I doubt I would be as polite to someone who lied his way into invading my country, slaughtering my countrymen and destroying so much.

Think about what YOU would do in a similar situation?
06:58 PM on 12/16/2008
No, we don't have that kind of freedom here.

I think we'd get shot by the SS.
