M Luther  saying, Works without Love, produced hypocrisy. He explained, Therefore a person must be free from the chruch or any authority telling him or her how to behave. Good works must flow from a loving heart. Faith in Christ was a gift freely given and freely embraced; therefore, as a free agents,Christians were indeed subject to no one. How much did Romney give to the Mormon Church? Isn't it something like $4 million? I wonder how much of his money went into the $20 million that Salt Lake City sent to CA to get the anti-gay Prop 8 passed.

AS I SAID Many times if a church or religious organzation take money from the Government " The 5013c a tax exempt status clause giving by the Government for Churches and religious organzations, They have to play by their the government rules and this article show that. Yes as a pastor you should be able to preach against immoral conduct by people and the government but you can't if you as a church or religious organzation take money from the government, So many in faith put the tax break before God and when a time comes to preach up God so many are force into silent because they pick Ceasar "Government over God"

I believe there should be no tax-exempt organizations whatsoever, religious or otherwise. Let one give because of one's convictions, not because one receives a tax break.

This shows you don't understand how laws and regulations come about. Did your preacher tell you that? Cuz jesus told him in secret?

He's still both IN contempt, and contemptible.
Such vileness has no place in a house of worship.

Any Institution of Religious Faith that attempts to impose it's beliefs and dogma on others by means of uniting Church and State through means at the ballot box, are spiritually dead already. You cannot legislate morality and expect to change people's lives. Only by surrendering to God and that on a daily basis, can the Spirit of God can begin to change a person's life...but it is God's Spirit that can perform the changes...God's not going to have anyone in His Kingdom, that comes kicking and screaming that doesn't want to be there...LOL!!!!!

Didn't Jesus tell Pilate "My KIngdom is not of this world."?
Oh, I forgot, the Bible is a reference for quotes that are to be wrenched out of context, not an authoritative interdependent text to help you in developing your relationship with God.

The Bible is a book of reverence, not a book of reference. That's why it keeps getting re-interpreted. How many English versions are there now?

Wow are you serious...that is just plain crazy politicians can bad mouth other politicians in advertisements that air across the whole US but one man preaching can not oppose against a candidate...I say let the man have freedom of speech and quit nit picking at all the small stuff and deal with the BIGGER issues. Pretty PATHETIC if you ask me.

He can say whatever he likes. He just can't campaign for electoral candidates while expecting to receive tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. If he wants to campaign for electoral candidates, all he needs to do is call the IRS and tell them that his organization can't qualify as a 501(c)(3) and that he wants to organize as a 501(c)(4). Donations to 501(c)(4)s aren't tax-deductible, but why should I be subsidizing someone's donations to a political campaign?

DUH! This is NOT a 'freedom of speech' issue - a preacher can SAY anything that he wants to - but when he uses his pulpit to advocate for or against any political candidate, then they lose their tax exempt status. What part of that don't you understand???

Amazing, it's wonderful that people can lose their tax-exempt status over issues like this. Can't wait till churches start to lose these cases.

There is no question about it, Pastor Whatever his name is is free to express that political opinion, but not with tax-free contributions. That's public money.
