At a convention of Texas Republicans, he could still be the brightest bulb in the room...

Poor Perry, nowadays everyday is becoming a "oops" moment for him.

And after Perry had his time, Ron Paul gave a great speech and told people basically to put princible over party and not to unite just for the sake of uniting and staying loyal to one's party. He got several standing ovations. Awesome speech.
Say what you will about Paul, he is honest. This liberty movement is just beginning.

Rick Perry has been a reasonably good governor of Texas. Prosperity should not be derided even though liberals like to sneer at it.

Yeah, as I understand it the number of government jobs has risen sharply under the Perry regime.
12:08 PM on 06/08/2012
Not true. Tech and petro-chemicals have had significant growth.

Highest teen pregnancy and largest number of uninsured healthcare seekers are the hall marks of Texas. Texas is a oil rich region of America and that is the only reason it is doing well in site of Perry.

second highest number of illegals wonder if that has anything to do with it
12:11 PM on 06/08/2012
No. Texas is doing well for having a business friendly environment, its proximity to Mexico, tier I academic research institutions, the nest medical center in the world, natural resources (more than oil) and a growing population.

As to your hallmarks, if New York was attached to Mexico, they would have the same issues with uninsured and teen pregnancy.

I thought they wanted to secede. Now would be a good time. Take Texas and leave Ricky.

"I appreciate everybody paying attention to Texas -- as well they should," Perry said. "They could learn some things on how to run South Carolina and Pennsylvania and Alaska."

he should end all his sentences with yeehaw!

he's half right. people should pay attention to texas. but not for the reasons he thinks.

Perry threw that out because he thought Americans would panic. He was surprised to find out how many Americans agreed it was a good idea.

Maybe he could get Jan Brewer to go along with him. we could save some serious money if Arizona left. For every dollar the send to washington they get back 1.19. California gets back .78 for each dollar we send to Washington. It disgusts me that the states that hate the government the most are the ones that are the most dependent on the government.
