More Anti-Christian, Pro-Gay Bias from Huffington Post.
Your headline "HomoPhobic Celebrities 2012" illustrates your bias and places Huff-Post's legitimacy as an objective and professional source of news in doubt.
Donna Summer and Kirk Cameron were expressing their thoughtful and well-considered opinions based on their strong Christian convictions.
That doesn't make them homophobic.
Bias expressed through personal attacks and name-calling makes the Huff-Post look and sound bush-league and not worthy of a readers attention.

I was getting ready to write nearly the same comment. Soon it will turn into everyone that isn't gay is suddenly considered "homophobic". ridiculous.

If you choose to hate, feel free. But please do not slur Donna Summer by putting her in your and Kirk Cameron's category of people.

She would find your views repugnant.

Huffington Posts quality of articles and how they are written has gone down since the AOL purchase From a great on line newspaper to a tabloid full of junk

Cannot agree with you more, and the Moderators are something to be desired. I believe they do not speak nor understand The English Language. Just call AOL and they are all in India, i am paying for something i cannot understand wth they are saying to me, no less get their names.

It's not AOL, HuffPo was on this trajectory prior to the merger. Anyhow HuffPo has never relinquished any editorial control. And it operates as an independent unit within the company.

Donna Summer was a class act in an industry sorely lacking in that regard. Nuff said.

Amazing what passes for 'celebrity' these days. A couple of rappers, a few washed up actors and reality show 'stars' and the unhinged Mel Gibson. I can live with these people being homophobic because no one cares what they think.

Wat about Eminem?
10:58 AM on 06/13/2012
The entire incident essentially destroyed her career.

She had Jesus to fall back on.

Yeah, and he killed her with cancer.
11:34 AM on 06/13/2012
don't be absurd, it did not destroy her career, she cut down her performances because of other interests but whenever she played a date it was packed and she still appeared on TV. Do you need to believe that because you disagree with her views on that subject? She was the queen of disco, did you notice that disco left...not her.

"...she cut down her performances because of other interests..." is a very hilarious line.

What the heck is the difference now, HP, and why did you not bring up this matter when the woman was alive? Can't stand to let a body lie in peace now, can you. You yourselves should be hoping that you don't get a 'backlash' from her family members for slander.

So, did she say it, or not?

If she did, the fans had a right to be "sullen."

"If I have caused you pain, forgive me," isn't really an apology, now, is it?

That is such an OLD, STUPID line.

It's like hearing someone say, "Obama is a socialist," or "Obama wasn't born here."

(And if think there was, literally, an "Adam and Eve," you are living in a scientific-reality-free fantasy world.)

I have always loved Donna Summer and will continue to do so. I was unaware of the allegedly AIDS speech she gave. However, I was at a concert at Summerfest in Milwaukee in 1983 and she did say after a performance, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." I believe that ended her career as the gay community was her bread and butter. For me, she is forgiven.

As a fanatical Donna Summer fan from that era and a gay teen I was crestfallen however all was forgiven eons ago. Donna Summer supported a whole slew of gay events and fundraisers. I love Donna Summer, R.I.P.

I think also her career ended with the waning of the disco genre as well. I"m sure she sped it along, but it was going to be over and soon at that. Who else from that genre maintained their music carreers in full force through the 80's and 90s? Maybe some continued as nostalgia acts. And some had resurgences in the mid to late 90's and dance music resurged.
