I would pay the value of that ring on her name and give the ring back to the anonymous owner. We all understand that her action is priceless & speaks volume. But some material things are just as important as well.

Material items are important? Really? When you die, do material items still bring joy?

Stuff is just stuff. All of us have to much of it, and when the rubber meets the road, none of it really means jack, it's stuff.

Nope. There is NO material thing on earth as important as what this lady did. To give her back the rings would be a huge slap in the face and hurt her beyond reason.

Your priorities are real screwed up.

geez, no exit. Really? You think that what sunshine said merited what you said? You didn't respond to his/her post, but rather to something else in your life, I suspect. Sunshine's post was extremely well-intentioned. What does that material/ring mean? Well, for many years it has been a symbol of their marriage/their love. So as an item, yes -- it's important. She loves her husband enough to give it away, but for someone to say they'd pay to let her keep it -- that's hardly a slap nor a "really screwed up priority" -- I think you need to save your harsh words for when stupid people really say stupid and lousy things --- not just for when you disagree with somebody's thoughtful sentiment. Life is really too short for this level of incivility.

Two people (you & I) look at the same accident tells 2 different story. Again, I said this anonymous lady's action is priceless & speaks volume. But I also would want her to have her ring back because it's a symbol of her marriage & love for her husband and vice versa,

From the HuffPost: "…An anonymous women left her wedding and engagement rings…"

AN anonymous WOMEN. ONE WOMEN.

Dear Huffington Post, haz women lost their individuality now?
Doesn't A WOMAN —even an anonymous one— deserve grammatical respect?

Isn't is spelled "paragraph"? Since you're being picky? And you would usually spell out the number two in this case.

I would think a disagreement of article (An) and headword (women) is far more repulsive than an obvious typo and some bogus rhetorical "rule" about not using numbers.

Hungry Kids in America? or starving kids in 3rd world countries? There are no starving kids in America, yet. Cancer hurts allot of people, she donated to a good cause.

Really? There are no starving kids in America? Not a single kid diagnosed with malnutrition, that actually makes it to a Doctor? I wish I lived in your fantasy world, it sounds nice.

As much as I oppose all things Republicans and as highly suspicious as I am of the corporatist Supreme Court, I don't think they are out to destroy all goodness in the world and the care for one's fellow man. They are awful, to be sure, but that's a broad brush.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

MY SISTER IS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND WAS STRANDED DURING THE 911 CRISIS. She worked for Chase at the time and they evacuated her building as soon as the Towers caught fire.

She was escorted to the street and left there. With no phone service or much hope she felt this uneasiness in her soul and thought of her children and husband that she couldn't reach. As she sat there crying and confused, a yellow taxi pulled up. A woman jumped out of the car and yelled to the driver "grab her wheelchair"!

This 100 pound woman literally picked my sister up and put her in the cab. They made it uptown to the woman's apartment where she took care of her for 2 days until her husband was allowed back into the city to pick her up.

The woman died last year. My sister's husband offered to drive her to her wake. My sister declined. She took a yellow taxi in her honor. True story.
