Way to go Serena! a lot of people counted you out. I never did. I knew you could win another big title. Your mind had to be totally in it and want it bad. I think like you said before you have other interest as well but you don't like it when people act like you don't have it in you and wanted to prove you did! congrats. always a fan

Whenever Serena is down, almost all of us have that certain feeling that she will get back up again. We don't lose hope. Instead, we just wait for her coming back to happen. It may be delayed, sure, but at the back of our minds, we know it's only a matter of time. It will happen. It keeps happening.

There is something truly inspiring with Serena's story that most of us don't see. She gives us a great lesson in life. She shows us how to champion it.

I don't like it when they play each other. Somehow the intensity is lost and I cannot root for Serena to win.

Venus always looks like she is holding back.

They both lack grace and have almost equal power.
02:36 AM on 07/08/2012
Apparently they don't need grace to be champs. You want grace? Check out ballet.
04:01 AM on 07/08/2012
interesting because grace is like something that is bestowed or shown upon people usually by god or usually by a person who has suffered an insult or injury. they both have grace...not the artificial type
11:47 PM on 07/07/2012
I don't watch tennis, but I've always rooted for them both. Congrats Serena!

The truth is that it takes 3 things for a successful athlete to get the most of products endorsements

1. Win Win Win
2. Be good looking, be attractive
3. Have a drama-free personality and life, create positive buzz about yourself in the media

Maybe endorsements is not what the Williams girls are chasing. Aren't they entrepeneurs in their own right and maybe that's enough for them (meaning...not greedy like some athletes) lines?

Tennis jumped the shark years ago when serves started coming in at 120mph and technology took over the game. The rackets are now almost as big as hula hoops so not hard to hit the ball with that. Lets see them play with the old wooden rackets and watch how they do. Same goes for golf. Way too much technology.

We Could Build THE DREAM With Love
11:38 PM on 07/07/2012
Congrats to Serena on her 5th Wimbledon and 14th grand slam title. 4 more titles to Chris and Martina's 18. The injuries and health issues that have kept her off the court, and that she bravely overcame, may actually serve to lengthen her playing career. She could be competitive well into her 30s.

A word about Radwanska. I think she's the real deal. No one has more variety of shot, she moves well, and she can volley. If she can add a few more MPHs to her serve, then she will win majors. I love her game.

And a word about women's tennis. It's deeper than at any other point during the Open era and deeper than men's tennis is right now. There is the potential for several compelling rivalries involving multiple players. The ladies bring as much to the SPORT OF TENNIS as do the men, just ask the packed house today at Centre Court. Of course the ladies should be paid the same.

It boggles me that they still have to argue this issue. I watched the first set today and it was compelling tennis. I am sorry that I did not get a chance to watch the 2nd set to see Radwanska step up her game.

The women seem to actually get to play tennis, while the men seem to just serve. Perhaps the men need bigger courts to actually play the game, something similar to what the has been said about the NBA courts.
