I hope with all my heart that he runs as an indendent. It would take a huge bite out of Mittsy's flank. I disagree with much of what Ron Paul says, but he is at least a man of conviction, unlike that straw man Romney, who flip-flops like a beheaded chicken.

I have wished that, too, but Paul won't go against the REpubs and burn any bridges.

Too bad, coz the Republican party needs to shake the nuts out of their tree

How much spin and BS can be shoved into one article? A lot when it comes to the MSM a) ALL of Ron Paul's positions are based solidly on the Constitution, they are hardly "radical". b) He already has more than the 5 states needed to place his name in nomination. c) Romney and Paul were NEVER "tacit allies" d) He has a lot more than "small bands" of supporters. He would have won several states' popular votes if it weren;t for election FRAUD on the part of the GOP (there are hunnumerous lawsuits going on right now everywhere from small claims courts up to the federal level about this). Lordy, I HATE the MSM and their branwashing, reality-altering propaganda machione.

"The Romney team helped the Paul campaign secure the University of South Florida's 10,400-seat Sun Dome arena in Tampa"

This appears to be a flat out lie. What is your source? Unless you are talking about the RNC being part of the Romney campaign since they were, perhaps illegally, assisting Romney throughout the entire process. If I were these Paul backers at the convention, I would treat the GOP with the same amount of civility that has been shown them and others during this process. They should proclaim to the GOP that they will conduct themselves in the way that the establishment members of the party have conducted themselves in the many states. This should put their minds at ease.

All the RNC wants is Paul's supporters to shut up during the convention.. that's it! They'll even let him speak to accomplish that..

You'll see that I'm correct about this come the convention
11:27 PM on 07/26/2012
I am not sure if they will have much of a choice but to let him speak. He clearly has a plurality of delegates in more than 5 states. If those states file the paperwork then Paul will be on the ballot and given 15 minutes to speak to the convention before the first round of voting takes place. After the way that Paul's supporters have been treated by the GOP, I can't imagine even the good doctor will be able to control them if they are once again targeted for disclusion or if any dirty tactics are directed at them.

When you say, "This appears to be a flat out lie", you mean it "appears" that way because you don't want it to be that way? I mean you have some contrary evidence?

deal with it...oh, I just caught the user name. neva mind.

anyhow, yeah like susanfabian has said....as long as rp supporters are quiet Romney would do/pay anything.
11:12 PM on 07/26/2012
No, I say "it appears that way" because I can't find anything through my research that supports this claim. If I found anything, I would have stated my comment as a fact. I don't care one way or another. The RNC had the whole city booked just in case. They released the venue once their final plans were completed and it's use was not required. Paul got the RNC's approval to secure the venue. I just don't get your reply. Why would anyone want or not want it to be that way? I guess some people look to argue just for the sake of arguing.

Any bets out there that the GOP will filibuster the Audit the fed bill when it comes to the Senate floor?I mean afterall the GOP has to protect it's banker buddies especially those that took bailout cash and paid huge bonuses with it and all the money that was lent to them via the Fed at very low interest rates. The GOP doesn"t give a Rats pattootie about transparency in anything.....

Harry Reid has said that it won't come to a vote, although at one time he was all for it.

It's the Dems that are blocking it in the Senate and Obama who has promised to veto it.

About the only thing that will be of interest in the GOP Convention will be how they muzzle Ron Paul and keep the loonies off the podium. Should make for good Comedy Chanel coverage.

Romney and Obama both support the Project for the New American Century, the think-tank which promotes: diplomatic, economic, and military engagement IN THE WORLD! Romney even named his foreign policy plan An American Century. Iraq was all lies! Iran doesn't even have weapons, they are worried about weapons that may be built in 2015....MAYBE! The US and Israel already had their nuclear scientists assassinated, and planted the Stuxnet virus into their computer systems which broke their equipment. The media has a war to sell you. Are you buying it? I am NOT!
I am voting for Ron Paul! End the wars!

Dear Gabriel Debenedetti, Correction PLEASE! "Radical new ideas" (from above) are not new, they are from the Constitution. Maybe, just maybe, if people are swearing to uphold and/or defending the Constitution for 225 years it is not really radical? Isolationist policies are in fact the way our nation treats Cuba, Iran, Syria, Korea to this day. I double dog dare this reporter to explain Isolationist policy or for that matter any GOP member. Just because you said it because you heard it someone else, does not make it true. Explain what are the exact word said that were "isolationist"???

I am wondering why Huffington Post hasn't picked up the story of the 1995 video of Harry Reid in support of Audit the Fed that has come to the surface.

The answer is in your thought. It is HP, that's why.

I think a news agency needs to do a new national poll on Audit the Fed and report the findings.

Everything is worth a try no matter of the consequences involved. Smaller the better. Like you I say we don't need police fire fighters or garbage pickup. All a waste of money. Smaller government will help in the elimination of medicare and other stupid things that are not needed to sustain a country such as ours. Less taxes will assure less government will work just fine. Along with less environmental regulations so we can advance some good old global warming upon the world. Yep I can see your point and it is well taken. Obama 2012

I don't even know where to start with your ridiculous comment. Last time I checked, the nation was $16 trillion in debt. Regardless of what Krugman tells you, at some point severe spending cuts will be enacted, whether you like it or not. And please don't start with "if everybody paid their fair share of taxes" talking points. We pay more fees/taxes to local, state, and fed's than we should as it is, and even if more taxes are taken from us, it would just go to fund more war and other worthless projects...
