I know your a destiel fan and all but did you have to bring it up in relation to Supernatural. Fanfiction and everything else that fans fantasize about has nothing to do with Supernatural. Why would you bring up pornography and everything else between Dean and Castiel. As a huge Dean Winchester fan I am shocked that people keep tainting his character like this.

I just hope this show refocus' back to its roots and Sam and Dean as brothers and strenthen the bond and we see why as brothers that every single angel/demon evil thing fears them. We wonder how Dean and Sam reunite, how the boys deal with everything, how they have each others back. Why Sam didn't look, or did he? Not Dean and Castiels relationship. Its got nothing to do with the over arcing story of Sam and Dean's supernatural adventure imo.

Disappointed in your questioning, sorry.

These questions were directed towards Misha, and his character, Castiel. So of course, all of the questions are going to be about Castiel and his most prominent relationship, which is, like it or not, with Dean. She's obviously not going to ask Misha about Sam and Dean's relationship. She's going to ask about Cas. It seems to me that your own bias against the Cas & Dean bromance is really what's making you butthurt, and not her questioning. She had every right to ask these questions, because these are the questions fans want to know the answer to. I would call that very good journalism.

You may brush off the Cas & Dean relationship, but guess what? It is, was, and will continue to be a prominent part of Supernatural. Supernatural isn't Supernatural anymore without Cas. If you can't accept that, it's your own fault. Get over it.

Ah hate to break it to you but SPN will always and only be about Sam and Dean and everything surrounding the two of them and their relationship. JC says it, heck the head of CW says it. They are the main characters, they are the regulars and they have the history. And like it or not, Castiel is a poor mans Sam, they try and try to give him something to do and it ends up being a sloppy second Sam Winchester story.

There is no bromance unless you consider trying to kill someone multiple times some kind of healthy relationship. No she had no right to ask about fanfiction and pornography, this has nothing to do with Season 8 or Supernatural the t.v. series. It was unprofessional but then yet again thats ironic.

Well, people also bring up wincest questions, so I don't see why we shouldn't talk about dean and castiel's relationship. it's not just porn, people fantasize about. they really take this bond seriously and that's also what supernatural is about. dean is allowed to have a close friend outside of Sam and that's what I want to see.

No one brings up wincest questions at all, ever. Especially not in interviews. That isn't the show, that is online fandom, no fan that is not online knows what the heck it even is. A close friend? That nearly kills him, manipulates him and lies to him. How is he a friend? And how is he a close friend. Thats in fanfiction. We have not seen anythiing to show us friendship but have seen alot to show us that he's not a friend.

Well, this interview certainly made me feel better! Thank you so very much Ms. Ryan!

"Purgatory really sucks for Cas. He's loathed, hunted and hated by everyone."
Noooooo, I moan with a huge grin on my face. :D

But oh my gosh at that reporter who asked if he hated Sera Gamble. -_-; Ridiculously unprofessional.

Love Misha's answer to the question about character threads. That was very thoughtful.

I disagree about Castiel being a 'get out of jail free' card, only because of Superman. Maybe Supernatural should hire some DC writers, haha.
But I do hope that there is more character relationship stuff this next season, because you're right Ms. Ryan, that is terribly interesting.

"I'm just always gratified that I'm in some small way contributing to any kind of pornography. It warms the cockles of my heart. Words chosen carefully."

I'll admit it: I scream, squealed and flailed about.

Gosh, I hope he's right that him and Mark Sheppard are back significatly. As in like half the season or more? And we get lots more scenes with them together, too? Sorry, waking dreams. ^^;
I heard the CW prez confirmed Misha would be in at least 8 episodes. Hoping he meant 8 of the 9 they've written so far, hah! More dreaming!

Nice finish to the interview! :D And I agree, time to stop killing characters (and maybe bring some old ones back? ;D)

Thank you again so much for this interview! :)

This was supposed to be a five season show. That was the intention which is why after season five it seemingly had no where to go and actually went all over the map because of it.

It's still a really good show but to get the GREAT show, you have to relive seasons 1-5
"Conservative" is not a political party, genius.

I really like the show. Was actually sad to see Dick Roman get killed, he was a really creepy bad guy! So funny seeing a maniacal inspirational speaker. Had actually hoped Felicia Day would be around longer (was sad to see their surly hacker buddy get killed).

I'm enthusiastic concerning season eight and overjoyed to learn that Cas will be more present next season. I'd badly missed the nerd angel during season 7

In various interviews, I've heard Jeremy Carver, Ben Edlund, J2 and Misha talk about proactive brothers, overall arc, character driven plot and relationship arc...IMO, those have been sorely missed in seasons six and seven

Cas will be a main target in purgatory, love it! It sounds like we can expect some good action-packed scenes. I also see itas a part of his character redemption arc (Karma is a b*tch, isn't it Cas?) All the better if it helps Cas to reassert himself and re-connect with his angelic warrior side.

Thank you for that interview. It's always fun and interesting to read Misha witty, sarcastic and honest answers.

Excellent interview, laughed so hard at the end. And hilarity aside, I totally agree with you. Constantly killing characters and putting the boys through every possible depressing scenario has only made me desensitized to much of it and also annoyed. I really hope they keep Cas around for this season and any seasons to come. He's an amazing character. I'd be perfectly happy if they made him human to deal with the all-powerful buddy issue. Misha's great, Cas is great. I have a lot of hope that Jeremy sees the potential and he makes it out of purgatory alive too!

I love this article and its author! :) So excited for Season 8. Cas is amazing, and I'm gonna love seeing him back in the saddle with the equally amazing Winchester boys. I don't hate Sera Gamble, but I have to admit, I'm pretty mad at her for the way she handled seasons 6 and 7. Bring on the Carver!!!

Thank you for the amazing interview! I've been a fan of the show since the pilot and love Sam and Dean, and Castiel has added more intriguing dynamics to the show. I adore this character. Really glad to hear we're getting what sounds like Castiel being much more himself. I get why the character needs to be hobbled in creative ways, since he is superpowered and an ally to Sam and Dean, but that doesn't mean he can't continue to have the emotional importance this character has earned, and have good stories. The SPN writing team is, after all, incredibly creative--they can figure it out.

It's also bothered me how far SPN has gone in removing all its supporting characters. Yes, there needs to be a sense of peril and high stakes. But Sam and Dean have lost so much, the killing off of characters got so gratuitous, some of the emotional impact drains out of it. It's less meaningful if Sam and Dean have no one left to be attached to in the first place, and while SPN is a narrative about grief and loss, it's also heavily about connections and bonds, and not just with blood family members, or just with one other person. Castiel (and other characters like him) are needed, and are interesting in their own right in addition to making Sam and Dean's story that much richer.

So delighted we're getting more Castiel in Season 8. :D

Some of these questions were rather uncomfortable to read and to see him try to answer. :/ I know you were trying to air some of your grievances with the show, but unless those grievances are against his acting, I'm not sure what good it does to air them to him instead of to the writers or producers in charge of those decisions. He's not in a position to make storyline or writing decisions, and it feels like you're backing an actor against the wall in making him criticize his employers like that in a way that goes on record. I know you're a critic as well as an interviewer, but maybe the criticism should be leveled at the correct parties that can answer your concerns. JMO.

Yes! Totally agree!!! Thought the interview was totally unprofessional.

This is a wonderful and insightful interview. Thank you for giving us answers to pressing questions. Such awesome good news in regards to Castiel!
