Where is John Roberts these days?
04:21 AM on 08/10/2012
The GOP kidnapped him and are currently replacing him with a newer model of robot with more consistent software.

My memory of her from college was that she was smart, energetic, and seemed nice. Many of the characteristics described here were actually fairly common in my female classmates. When you are a woman in the first coed class at a long time male college, you have to be strong to even attempt it. Many (though not all) were somewhat feminist, because that makes it easier to move into "male territory". They were also sharper than average (I think the college deliberately selected them that way). Between all of these things, my class (mostly the women) controlled many of the key positions usually reserved to seniors by junior year.

Jane was one of the officers of our math honorary, as one of a group of strong women majors in the department. The officers were selected based on how they did in major classes, and I was the only male officer that year (in a class that was 2/3 male).

Perhaps the wrong Roberts was selected for SCOTUS. I cannot help but wonder if she would have been on the 5 side for Citizens United.

She works with "an environmental organization"?

Either you didn't mention it or you are referring to the group that helps lower energy costs. While it may help people it certainly has nothing to do with the environment.

Maybe she works with more than one organization. Or maybe the group to which you refer helps lower energy costs by getting people to use less energy (whether through some lifestyle changes or more efficient technologies). If so, then that would also be beneficial to the environment.

Ahh, yes, it didn't say pro-environmental. An anti-environmental organization is also "an environmental organization".

Something's up here. Couple lifetime tenure for Supreme Court justices with intelligence and compassion, and we might see a realignment with Roberts shifting away from the Scalia wing of the court. The Chief Justice is a relatively young man, and he might wake up one morning and realize that he's free to be humane and good.

Roman Catholic? Listen up Religious Right, Your Roberts 5 Catholic Hypocrites (Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and Alito) have desecrated the Second Commandment and furthered their sin by imposing their violation of Devine Law upon our nation by making their belief in false idols the Supreme Law of the Land.

The Second Commandment states; Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath.. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:...

The Roberts 5 Catholic Hypocrites, in CITIZENS UNITED, imposed upon the United States their belief that a corporate charter is a “person” and that money is it’s “speech.” Thus the Roberts 5 made graven images of or something on the earth; a person and a person’s speech! Furthermore, they knew the result of their sinful act would be the promotion of sinful acts of others who seek civil office. Thus the Roberts 5 Hypocrites have crafted a golden calf of campaign finance and candidates must either bow down to and serve these false idols, corporations, or suffer a probable loss at the ballot box.

As a result of the sinful acts of these obsessed and sinful idol worshipers, the people of the United States must amend their Constitution to make clear that the United Statesis not a bunch of idol worshipers.

If I were the one saying I believe a corporate charter is a “person” and that money is it’s “speech, ” I would agree that a therapist might be in order. Moreover, even if the word "person" may have two legal meanings; 1, human being and 2, a construction of law to provide a charter to have standing in court, enter into contracts, etc., I would really have to be unstable to say that there is no difference in the meaning of those words as they are used in the Constitution of the Unted States; e.g. "We the People... to also mean, "We theCorporations..."

Of course she does. Who hasn't figured out who wears the pants in that relationship. Seriously look at that picture. That's not a big happy smile and grin, that's the look of a woman who knows when he gets home, she's the one in the leather corset and spike heels and he is lucky to be in her presence.

NOT GROVEL FOR HER!!!(gotta say it in Klause's voice.)

Just kidding, who knows.

"Jane stopped working on legal cases in 2003, when John was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, in order to avoid any potential conflicts of interest. . . . The potential conflicts only increased after her husband was confirmed to the Supreme Court in 2005. "She told me she had to leave the firm when John became chief justice, because it just became untenable," said one of Jane's law school classmates. . . "

Obviously, Jane Roberts has a MUCH better understanding of conflicts of interest than Ginny Thomas, who shamelessly shills as a lobbyist and political consultant even as her husband judges Supreme Court cases in the interest of her clients.
