He's starting to look like another Palin, more and more, by the day. The interview with Brit Hume was as stumbling as the one Palin had with Katie Couric.

Wonder if Charles Krauthammer has come up with any adjectives yet on just how disasterous alexithymic Mitt's "pick" is turning out to be.

After reading your post - I couldn't help reflecting on the local news tonight - and their assessment of McCain offering advice on vice presidential picks . . . . Don't know where this will all lead - but you can bet that I'm praying the GOP doesn't torpedo the nation again ! ! !

It gets more difficult for both Romney and Ryan to remember just what they said to who and when. And now they have to add the other persons comments to that mix.
Tough to keep track of all those lies.
The truth is easy, it is the same everytime.
if they catch themselves telling the truth they try to lie out of it. Truely sad.
And there will be some ill-informed voters that will vote for this bumbling pair.
Better entertainment han SNL:)
Vote a straight Democratic ticket, and we can look forward to good things happening.

Devotees to Ayn Rand — btw, that was her nom de plume — are nothing more than
highbrow cultists.

Rand was a selfish, self-centered woman of questionable history.

Somewhat appalling that Atlas Shrugged is required reading to be a Ryan staffer.
06:16 PM on 08/16/2012
When William Buckley, Jr. was introduced to pseudo-intellectual Ayn Rand, he thought she was a joke----she was all for him becoming interested in her movement---he'd steer clear of her everytime they happened to be at the same social function.

I started to read a bio about her, but lost interest----even Ayn's mother couldn't warm up to her, since she was a toddler. Ayn had no friends in her life, until she started publishing her soap opera level fiction.

Rand developed the philosophy of objectivism - one of it fundamental assertions is that contradictions cannot exist - Rand died insane - I know who John Galt is and he is nothing like the Rand devotees - he is a mythical romantic character created by a very good writer with some very serious mental issues - Atlas Shrugged is ovwer 1000 pages and I doubt if any Ryan staffers can read much less get through the entire novel much less understand any of it - In a perfect world John Galt would probably exist - of course he never will and he certainly would not vote Repulican - or for any other political party either - Ayn Rand was not a supporter of any form of government - but then she needed one - hence the insanity - her dream was just that - a dream - it could never happen

A very good writer? I read that drivel when I was a teen, and was mildly impressed. After many years of reading works of greater and lesser quality, I tried to read AS again. I couldn't get past the first two pages. Amateurish at best.

I grew up Catholic and was taught by nuns all through grade school and high school. Many of them were tough and a few were nutty, but overall, they are great and admirable women who do God's work on the front lines. Sister Simone is a great fighter, and she's articulate and kind. Go Sisters! The Nuns on the Bus Tour is the best and most needed initiative on the politcal stage today. Paul Ryan should be quaking in his boots that these nuns are exposing his immoral plans.
07:56 AM on 08/17/2012
Perhaps you should listen to what Sister Simone is actualy saying about forced charity through taxation before you embrace her bus tour. Her comments in recent video interviews explicity state her support for taking from some and giving to others. Undoubtably personal charity is moral and commendable, but compulsary charity through government is what is truely immoral. Catholic Charities are a force for good in the world and on individual lives and are more effective in delivering services to the needy then most other organizations, but advocating for higher taxes is immoral in this context. We are encouraging people to envy success, and to hate any who don't agree with them.

Very interesting comments here from uninformed libs. Stop listening to the media, find Jason Lewis on the radio and start listening. Don't sent me hate responses. I don't hate you, just think you need to get a reality check.
05:16 PM on 08/16/2012
"Stop listening to the media" you say and start listening to Jason Lewis. Jason Lewis is part and parcel of "the media," you do know that right...

Oh shucks, I left out "mainstream" from my media comment. Thank you for pointing that out. And I recommend Jason because he is a well informed federalist. And some liberal minded people can listen to him because he is very good explaining politics through that federalist viewpoint. While if I recommend Rush, I am afraid they might throw up on my feet. Oh well.
02:33 AM on 08/17/2012
Don't hold your breath on that assessment . . . . or you trying to be humerous? I'm hoping for the latter . . . . as I don't think she has a tight grip on reality. But, that said, she's still entitled to her opinion.

What the heck is Jason Lewis if not 'the media'? He may not qualify as a broadcast journalist of any credibilty but he IS on the air. As for hate ( never heard of him before but googled him) he's just Rush Limbaugh in a cheap suit. You don't need 'hate responses' if you listen to hatemongers like him. Your cup is overflowing.

I know, sometimes I recommend Rush but for my lib friends, Jason is better. He is a well informed federalist and explains politics from that viewpoint. But I can understand that some people will object to anyone that bursts the bubble of government as the caretaker of the people.

Thats funny. The Athiests I know are conservative. Way to generalize though.

Really... I've found just the opposite. And "way to generalize" to you, too. Just having fun with you, brotha.

I am an atheist and I certainly do not support any Democrats or Republicans - or anyone else in the political establishment for that matter - you really do not know any atheists do you - why do you capitalize atheist?

Why the need for labels? How do you know that the majority of posters aren't 'atheist libs'? It's not a conservative trait to care about others unless they are rich. So most of the posters seem to be liberals.

As for atheists, we come in all stripes. We don't attach ourselves in a group. We don't proselytize and couldn't care less what you believe in. We simply don't believe in god. But if you are a Christian, try not to besmirch the reputation of those Christians who actually follow the teachings of Jesus -like caring for the poor, feeding the hungry, looking out for one another. I have Christian friends who are nothing like Republican 'Christians'. And I have many friends who are not believers who behave more Christ-like than any of you.
