Dolan is a phony....he is a republican in a dress who should concentrate more on the pedophile problem in his own backyard than trying to shove his beliefs down people's throats....
09:00 PM on 08/29/2012
He has.

Next question?

A Groover has to expect a few setbacks .....

Kansas City ....

Evidence that led to a Catholic priest’s child pornography conviction should not be allowed in the trial of the diocese and the bishop who supervised him, defense attorneys argue in a pre-trial motion.

Bishop Robert Finn and the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph are scheduled for a trial starting Sept. 24 in Jackson County on misdemeanor charges of failing to report suspected child abuse by the Rev. Shawn Ratigan.

In their pre-trial motion, attorneys for Finn and the diocese ask a judge to exclude eight pieces of evidence they believe prosecutors intend to introduce at trial, including the contents of Ratigan’s computer hard drive that were turned over to the diocese in December 2010 and to police in May 2011.

The defense maintains that neither Finn nor another high diocesan official saw or reviewed the hard drive’s contents.

They also seek the exclusion of images found in Ratigan’s possession about the time of his arrest. Again, they maintain that those items were never seen by the bishop or other diocesan officials.

Old Dolan is trying to be the Ayatollah of the US. Thank goodness for Sister Campbell going too. At least she will present the real face of the Catholic Church.

I am pleased to see that the Democrats have changed their minds and will now allow Cardinal Dolan to speak at the Democratic National Convention.

With the leader of the Catholic Church in America now speaking at both conventions, I cannot help but reflect on the wonderful grace my Catholic Faith has been in my life.

Indeed, I am humbled that I am blessed with the privilege of being a Roman Catholic.

Perhaps, you a Catholic who has been away from the Church for a while? If so, Come Home!

Or, do you simply want to learn more about Catholicism?

Here is a moving, two-minute video on the beauty of Catholicism and the contributions of the Catholic Church to Western Civilization:

As a gay former Catholic, there is no place for me in the Catholic church. No home, no comfort, no support. Only hate. Sorry, but no.

And I am angry that someone who so vociferously speaks against my civil rights is giving the blessing at the DNC. I will still vote for Obama because the Democrats support my civil rights and the Republicans would eliminate them. But this really pisses me off.

To be frank, I think it is intolerant for people to label people they disagree with as haters.

To oppose gay mariage is not to "hate," but rather is to recognize that there is a fundamental difference between same-sex and opposite sex relationships.

There is no right for two people of the same sex to get married, because the physical complementarity of man and woman is integral to the concept of traditional marriage.

Gay marriage cannot occur unless marriage is completely redefined to remove the physical complementarity of man and a woman.

At that marriage has a completely different definition and meaning.  The
traditional concept of marriage would cease to exist.

So the Democrats changed their minds...

I guess they realized that giving the leader of 60 million American Catholics the cold shoulder was not such a good idea after all.

After catholic priests have sexually molested 120 million children throughout the 2000 years since the catholic superstition was invented, covered up by all levels of church leaders all the way to the popes, the 60 million catholics should turn a cold shoulder to the catholic bigotshops.

120 million?

If you are going to make up a number, you should at least make up one that is believable.

Sexual abuse is a horrible thing, but it is a societal problem not a Catholic problem.

Ugh. I want to blow this off because I am exhausted by the meshing and back scratching between the powerful religious and the powerful political... both the powerfully economic.

At the same time it makes me angry. I do not want religion, whichever one, forming, shaping and influencing public policy based only on faith indictments and absolute beliefs of "God says so".

Religion really needs to get the blip out of the platform of both parties and off the stage.
