ASU snub, tea party, now this guy releasing two documents in contradictory with no other intention than embarrassing Obama, what's going on? I thought we were a bad bad bad recession, I thought there are two wars to fight and to end, I thought we had a planet to save. Seriously? This is how people put country first?

Smart guy, Jim Gibbons. He sure knows how to win friends and influence people. I'm sure the people of Nevada thank him for his efforts on their behalf.

Think his tax affairs are in order? TAX AUDIT!!!

I just got a great deal in the mail for the Wynne Hotel in Las Vegas, threw it in the trash. I'll let them know why. Also let Gibbons know why we will not visit Las Vegas or Nevada due to his attitude:

This is typical of the meltdown of the repug party. Sadly they double speak and still don't realize that everything they say and do is rapidly reported. We have gotten better at wading through the bull and seeing through their lies.

Any time this tool speaks, he's the one that causes Vegas to loose money. As a corporate travel planner, when he went nuts when Obama made reference to Wall Street/Banks should not be taking trips to Vegas if they have received taxpayers money - this tool like everything else, did not listen. He did press release that the President should apologize as he was saying nobody should go to Vegas. Well, within 2 days had 5 full planes cancel Vegas. More after that and expect more to come again. I don't even recommend Vegas now. Many other destinations available. Vegas whining about lack of business -- they should look within their own 'walls' of why.

actually that was different tool, the mayor, a democrat, at least in name.

look, obama easily carried nevada and was huge in vegas, you might think you're spiting republican politicians but you're really talking about hurting working folks that voted for obama.

My, my, aren't the Republicans surly these days? I can't decide whether they are uglier in the majority or in the minority. Overbearing in ascendancy and ankle-biting in defeat.

Now that they're out of power, it's easier to look elsewhere, so to me they were uglier in the majority. Also, there's a kind of beauty in seeing criminals eat their just desserts.

They are just ugly, period. Time to euthanize the party, I think. That's what they do with rabid dogs.
05:39 PM on 04/10/2009
The Republican Party needs to refocus its energies on gaining a winning platform. Trying to insult, embarrass President Obama will not get them any more support than gut with a girdle. If they were to look around they will see their followship dwindling more and more each day. With that glance should be the question "why?"
12:46 AM on 04/11/2009
The problem there is that the Repubs have defined themselves into such a tiny, exclusive tent with barbed wire, minefields and machine guns to keep all the "lesser" people out, that there IS no possible winning platform to be found within their ideology.

"Why" is actually fairly easy: People are leaving the party in droves because the party's loudmouth constituency doesn't want them there. Party of No quickly becomes Party of Nobody.

Oddly enough, I'm okay with this.

So the Party of NO voted overall against the stimulus party; now, a republican govenor is bishing that his state did not get enough stimulus money! Where was old boy when the repubs were parading in front of the cameras every day of every week saying that the stimulus would not be of any help. Why didn't he come forth and SAY SOMETHING about the need in his state???? I don't recollect the govenor holding a press conference and saying that he disagreed. I am sure the mayor of LV will be at this meeting telling that same lie that the president was telling people not to vacation in LV; he said groups receiving federal funds should not be spending big time "borrowed bucks" in Vegas or anywhere else for that matter.

The invitation wasn't insulting. If the Governor needs more money he should say so. What is insulting is the strategy. Good Grief! Because he (Obama) likes publicity? He is publicity. What would these talking heads do if they didn't have Mr. O to talk about?

Obama is news and he is the president, I do not believe for one moment that "he only cares about publicity" That charge like so many other charges they dream up are empty.
