This goes to the heart of the Romney campaign.  Create a caricature of Obama and run against that caricature.  When the facts don't align with the caricature, then ignore them and take pieces of them ( completely out of context) to form an attack.  When even distortion of the facts don't work, then make stuff up.    Lie.

The Romney attacks today are a lie.  He is  Read More...

For decades, the US policies toward the Arab world, especially in the ME, have been aimed at achieving one goal; an uninterrupted supply of oil at a low price. These policies required that the US supports dictatorships and theocracies over democracies. The closeness of the members of the Bush family to those dictators has been on stage many times with kisses and hand-holdings. When kissing did not work, these GOP leaders resorted to war. Our dependence on the Arab oil is really the one issue responsible for the hate we face in that world. To blame Obama for the outcome of policies that were established long before Obama was born, and especially now, when the Muslim world is rebelling against the atrocities of its own leaders, and to expect our President to double down on those old, broken policies is short sighted and stupid.

BREAKING NEWS: There is no God.

I have actually watched the 15-minute English-language film. It mostly consists of crude re-enactments of actual incidents from Muhammad's life as recorded in Islamic sources such as the Sirat Rasul Allah and the History of al-Tabari, which Islamic scholars themselves regard as accurate.

The Embassy statement "condemned" someone just for speaking the truth about Muhammad - in other words, it gave preference to Islamic Sharia "blasphemy" law over our right of freedom of speech.

Romney was right to object to the Embassy's statement.

yea, maybe if he had actually criticized the embassy, but he did it before the deaths were reported and the white house had nothing to do with that statement.

For a crowd that never bothered to mention "Afghanistan"---a country in which American armed forces are fighting and dying every day---during their political convention, it is interesting how interested the Republicans suddenly are in foreign policy.

A bunch of pale, white guys who've never done anything other than sit behind desks, who've never served in the armed forces, who don't mention an on-going war unless they think there is political capital to be gained by it, led by a tanning-bedded white guy (come on, Mitt, how often are you climbing into the tanning bed?) who thinks he's a foreign policy expert because he's done business with other countries---yeah, right, I'm gonna' vote for that crowd!

my husband is in afghanistan right now and i cant tell you how much mr romney has offended me by so many of his statements. most simply, for a man who deferred vietnam 4 times for his church (legal, but cowardly), i find it profane that he is beating the war drum to send more men and women into more wars, when he has no clue what its like to have your friends next to you one second and pink mist the next.

an embarrassment he is as a candidate.

Shut up, Rommey!
I know you want to scare the hell out of everybody by making Obama look like a Muslim. But stop it. You are only embarasing yourself. You are ridiculous. We shouldn't even dignify your words with our comments.

what he should have focused on is the deaths of the innocent people in Libya, not turn it into a scolding to Obama. it's unfortunate that the victims of hate on both sides of the pendulum were dehumanized to become a political speech

Correct. He should have not mentioned Obama at all..he had a chance to look presidential...talk about the lives of people that serve in harms way...talk about free speech..but instead he choose to condem Obama with out the facts of the whole situation and in a fluid situation while a response was being formulated. He has no character..no morals and will do anything to gain advantage. he is a hypocrite as well as some one who has no clue of what common people think or feel....Who needs such a person for as President??

Back in my younger days, I was a supervisor and was responsible for150 people. Then it bacame apparent that every error they made, every wrong comment they uttered, every bad judgement they decided, and every response they had, that it all came back to the supervisor, me when I realized that I cannoit control every situation. But still, was accountable.

O has said that he is indeed accountable for all, and even though he has had to make risky decisions and commitments for justice, he is still accountable which he claims. But in no way did he cause or control these happenings.

It takes courage and wisdom to lead our nation, even though not all agree, but there are things we do not understand. M in no way has courage not wisdom, nor integrity for that matter..

And we will remedy that by our votes in Nov.

Romney has appealed to Obama asking him to stop the divisive politics. Seems to me that Romney has caused more division with this statement. Worse yet, via his statement Romney blames fellow Americans for an attack on a US embassy abroad. 11 years ago Americans were united in their reaction to an attack on American soil. We weren't republicans or democrats back then. We were all Americans. Shameful that Romney has denigrated our unity as a country.

Our thoughts and prayers as a nation are for our country men and women so savagely slaughtered. And as we look to our leader, our commander-in-chief for guidance, I, personally, am reassured that O and his team have this covered. Sure it's easy to condemn and lie, but we the people believe our pres with confidence.

M will never get that. He's too full of Barackonoia.
