There was no balance struck, Mr. Davis. The Bush administration has won and has got away with committing crimes under both US and international law.

Absolutely. Obama has let them all off the hook. Nobody deserves prosecution according to the WH.....

So now Obama is an accomplice.

"I was just following orders!"
-- Any German in the Nuremberg trials

"I'm not a crook!"
-- Richard Nixon

I'm sorry, but while Lincoln may (or may not) have been right back in 1865, Obama is WRONG in 2009 to simply let all the Bush admin people go since that will encourage a NEW Bush to come into play in the future, though it may take as long as between Nixon and Bush!

"We will not prosecute"

"It would be unfair to prosecute dedicated men and women working to protect America for conduct that was sanctioned in advance by the Justice Department," said Attorney General Eric Holder.

This is total crap. Any human being who tortures someone else knows it is wrong I don't care who said it was OK. The "only following orders" defense has been debunked completely.

With Holder's reasoning, anything sanctioned by the Justice Department must have to be swallowed by the suckers who believe in the pursuit of justice and that all US citizens are equal under the law. Very poor rationale. The Bush administration broke both US law and international law. So much for Obama telling the Europeans and the rest of the world that the US is not going to be arrogant any longer.
