Romney's a Rich Guy. Rich people tend to view the world a little differently, from, say, an ownership perspective. I own this place, you're my chattel, more or less. And, the military's a tool, the tool with which to shift the native citizens off their land to make way for...my bulldozer, and other digging implements, that can haul away vast quantities of gold-bearing ore, that kind of thing, or the drilling rig with which to make the hole in the earth out of which comes...my petroleum, my liquid ROI. Sportertoops, are a tool, human tools, human resources. When they get blunted, you replace them with new, sharper ones, kind of like a drill bit. Who cares, what happens to them when they're done running too and fro, and insurging and outsurging and whatever goes on, there? From the standpoint of a high-dollar investor, or the industrial community, people are expendable, replaceable units, disposable heroes. What, you thought you, individually, were important? Tigger, please...

My Father although he died several years ago was a VET and a believer in Jesus Christ and would say the election is in God's hand!

That's nice.

Except this vote was by Republican Senators - voting against Veterans that served the country.

Then he probably quoted to you: Render unto Caeser what is Caesers, and what is God's unto God. Governments are man's creation, not Gods....

How should voters view Mr. Romney? Simply:

I noticed in the video, Mitt did not stutter! When he speaks to the public, he is stutters with ah, oh, huh - He seems unsure of what he is staying... and with good reason - can't let the cat out of the bag!

Remember this, military families: Mr. Romney thinks that having his sons "work on his campaign" is equal to what you went through while serving our country. He is oblivious. He doesn't understand what you've gone through, and worse, he doesn't care.

He will throw us into Wars for oil, or dominance that have nothing to do with our security. Then abandon the returning warriors.

As a combat disabled veteran I have no expiration date on my patriotic duty for my country in time of war. I volunteer at Loma Linda veteran’s hospital and have never wagered against my country in time of war.

These unpatriotic Republicans will have to answer for wagering against our country in time of war and their attempt to undermine our veterans resolved before God and the American people.

This is a great commentary...thank you for your service, for one thing, and thank you even more for telling it like it is regarding the difference between President Obama and Mr. Romney.

It really bothers me that not a one of his five boys would even consider enlisting (just like their father) but meantime, Mr. Romney is dismissive of the troops. It seems that he'd be perfectly happy to start another war and keep the troops busy, but when it comes time to give the service men and women their due, he'd be the first to dismiss the matter as being not beneficial to the fiscal bottom line. And that is a real shame.

I'm extremely relieved to see that President Obama looks headed towards reelection.

Kali03: I completely agree with you. I was drafted near the end of the Korean War. I still learned how to use a rifle, and carbine. At boot camp in California, our company Master Sargeant called us out of the barracks and told us the war was over, but that we were still going to learn Army skills and we did. His vulgarity has been ommited. However, I served my 2 years, and have the benefit of the Veterans Administraion health care just a few miles from where I reside.

The US has an all-volunteer force, and happily considers any who are qualified. Not everyone is cut out to serve.
Why is enlisting a litmus test for you anyway? Bill Clinton served just fine, even though he avoided the draft, and my guess is you think BHO is wonderful, too. I wonder why Chelsey didn't enlist, or why there's no talk of BHO's daughters enlisting? Do you see what a silly criteria this is?

Well said. Our Veterans deserve the appreciation and support of every American.
This should be the headline in every single news outlet.

Patrick, it is GREAT to hear from you again. i read your book about your service and really respected everything you said. I wish to HEAVEN that President Obama would name you to replace Holder, I think you would do an absolutely stellar job in that position!
