I just posted about this very topic in my blog - "Hold Congress Members Responsible for Their Failures". I hope this gets as much attention as possible!! We need people in DC who will actually do their job instead of blocking the few people who are working from making any progress.

I agree. I hope the voters here in Nevada get rid of two of 'em.

To Heck with Heller, and to Heller with Heck!

Obama/Biden 2012!

Romney/Ryan 1040s please! Fork 'em over. Quit being so secretive. Let's see how much their public revelation will render both of you unelectable.

It is not just the 70 to 80 House freshman Congressmen, there are other obstructionist Republicans who need to be cleared out if the Country is to have a real chance at recovery. Oh, and I see in the polls that not only is Obama rising by picking up some of the undecided but Romney and Ryan numbers are actually going down which tells me voters are switching over from the dark side.

While Americans suffer high unemployment and decaying infrastructure, all these Tea Baggers would do is dance before the cameras and name post offices for Ronald Reagan.

So much for a government run by reality show stars and radio commentators. Bring back the professional politicians. at least they know how to work together.

I just like to point out to the TEApers that the Original Boston Tea Party was a protest against a CORPORATION called the British East India Tea Company.

From Wikipedia:
The Company eventually came to rule large areas of India with its own private army, exercising military power and assuming administrative functions.
Company rule in India effectively began in 1757 after the Battle of Plassey and lasted until 1858 when, following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the Government of India Act 1858 led to the British Crown assuming direct control of India in the new British Raj.

They did not want the tea, and struggled for independance from England (Great Britain).

They didn't mind the Tea. What they objected to was that the British Parliament and the British Navy worked with the tea company to make sure no American Based shipping company did any trading with India.
Cargoes of tea & spices were Enormously Profitable and the Colonies resented not getting a piece of the action.

That was a different issue. A bunch of Colonists wanted to know why the Colonies got NO Seats in Parliament. Their argument was that as the owners of farms 10 or 20 times larger than Any Farm in England, they didn't rate a seat in Parliament when most "big" landowners in England could manage to wangle one.
And, yes, it is Parliament that decided how much they paid in Taxes. Taxes that, by a funny coinkydink, were Higher for Colonists.
The TEA Trade and Taxes were just two of any number of issues that festered.
Like having a troop of British Soldiers show up at your front door and announce that they were your new "Houseguests" and "We're Expecting Dinner to be On Time". That cow over there will make a lovely Roast.

I'm still wondering how the republicans can be allowed to pledge allegiance to Grover Norquist
when as elected officials they take an oath of allegiance to the flag of the United States and the people for which it stands. Which pledge takes priority? It seems to me the hands of legislators are tied unnecessarily as they can't raise taxes at all as Mr. Norquist won't allow it and they won't cut certain other items such as Defense. I know they think "compromise" is a dirty word, but actually, it's a standard part of negotiations and when not used, the result is often the gridlock we presently are forced to endure.
