Hope that Ms Franklin continues to share her gift with the world for many more years to come. She puts todays "singers" to shame.

Halle Berry as Aretha?!? Really?!? Hey, maybe Halle can sing. And I thought folk were goin' ballistic about home-girl ( forgive me, I can't think of her name right now) playin' Nina Simone. Halle Berry?!? I don't see it; but...hey if Ree say Halle...must be 'cause must ain't don't sound right. Life.

I'm just glad that she seems to be doing fine as she was sick about a year & a half ago.

I love her voice & songs. I keep thinking of that song where she tells her no-good man that he's just taking up another man's space in her life.

There was a deficit when BO took office and it is now several times larger than it was four years ago. He just continues to spend money we don't have and hopes he isn't around when the bill comes due. Wonder if he ever thinks about his children's' futures with a crushing debt that can't be payed back.

No he is not concern with the debt he is putting on his children's future. Only thing he is interested in now is being on talk shows and hanging with Jay Z and Beyonce. He just want the title as President. We need him out now!!!!

I don't care about her politics, I don't care about her size (although I do hope she is healthy)... I just want to hear her sing!
I taught kindergarten for 5 years and every morning we danced to Aretha for our exercise. OMGGGGGGG I love this woman's voice.
I can just hear her singing...

You told me to leave you alone
My father said 'Come on home'
My doctor said 'Take it easy'
Oh but your lovin is much too strong

Aretha Franklin is the voice.

Don't think so. Whitney was better.
10:49 PM on 10/01/2012
Whitney could "sing" but Aretha could "sang". Hopefully, you can see the difference. Also having seen both, Whitney was a "singer" but she was not a "performer". I acknowledge Whitney's pipes but her stage persona left a lot.

They both great. No arguments here.

I love Ms. Franklin but, I am sorry to say that her weight could stand to be a little lower. This is not to disrespect her at all. It is just out of love and concern for her.
