Republicans need to clean up their own damn mess!

I am a current T-Moble customer and I don't care who they merge with - as long as it is not that worthless AT&T bunch. I had been an AT&T customer for 30+ years - their customer service got lousy and I have not even started on their phone service.

Completely agree. TMobile customer here - going on 10years. AT&T is the worst.

I wrote a letter to the AT&T CEO when I left them a 4 years ago. I told him I made a vow to never ever write another check, or make any payment to AT&T or any of their subsidiaries. I said I'd use smoke signals or semaphore before I would use AT&T.

Last month I checked several online sites that display cel towers, coverage, and signal of the various carriers in a chosen area. On the 3 sites I checked AT&T was last or second to last in my area. (Los angeles) Both MetroPCS and T-Mobile ranked higher.

The better chance of survival for smaller companies. If they don't merge, they'll go bankrupt & you'll have even less options.

I agree with what you said, but logically two companies don't exist any longer thus one less company to compete.....

I am counting down the days when our T-mobile contract is up 26 more days to suffer with the worst service in Florida . So merge on we will be out of our contract just not soo enough.

t-mo just announced they are stopping data caps and -throttling- they are going true unlimited like Sprint- now...
and get a metro- galaxy S III when your contract is up...it'll cost more- but unlimited 4 G LTE for 50 bucks a month no contract?????
you just have to pay full price for your galaxy s 3 or whatever 4g phone you get -with no contract...

"However, both companies are deploying the same "fourth-generation" or "4G" technology, so they're on a path to harmonizing their networks."

Merger= Increase in price & decrease in service.

Mergers benefit CEOs, not customers.

Just one observation, they're equipment is incompatible with each other. The synergy is they will probably dump the CDMA infrastructure by selling it Verizon and move MetroPCS customers to GSM technology. So it breaks down like this, total layoffs of all CDMA technology related infrastructure jobs, cashing out all installed CDMA cell sites and towers they own, and lastly one less wireless provider to put downward pressure on customer bills.

I had Sprint for years, eduring years of horrible customer service and spotty coverage. Since I refuse to use AT&T I finally switched to T-Mobile and have never been happier. While friends may lose coverage in certain parts of our area I rarely have issues with dropped calls or missing voicemails. My only complaint is that I would LOVE to get a Galaxy on the network. I adore my HTC but can't even find accessories for it unless I hunt online. But really, if my only complaint is which smart phone I have in my hand, I have no problem!

MetroPCS are currently offering unlimited 4G LTE for a rock-bottom $55/mo. Too good to be true? There must be a catch. Has anyone any experience with this carrier?

No, the price is true. I have experince with a similar prepaid carrier. I have a prepaid Cricket smartphone that works fine for a $50 a month plan. The only catch with prepaids could be if you live in a rural area. Sometime the signal on prepaid phones do not work well in a rural area.

I am just glad AT&T and T-Mobile didn't merge. AT&T has the worst service ever.

Years ago AT & T changed my plan without telling me and they changed and cutoff time for free calls from 7pm to 9pm. To my total shock I got a bill for $770 for one month! I refused to pay them!

I live in a metro area and I have never heard of them. And I get into tech. I actually wish they were around where I live so this merger, if it happens, would improve T-Mobile service around here. I would like to switch to a service that still has unlimited data that actually has decent coverage. Where I live, if you want good data and call coverage, you go wit Verizon or ATT. We have Sprint and T-Mobile but when you can have full signal on a Sprint phone and move 2 blocks and totally drop a signal, this isn't good. T-Mobile is better but still considerably less coverage area than the other two.

Oh good. 40 million unhappy subscribers. For rural America with limited options for phone service and extremely spotty service (especially along the border) this probably won't do anything for us.
