He pled GUILTY to the charges, that sure makes it hard to keep him out of jail, don't you think???

i didnt read about the case but i am guessing the gay was offered a plea deal and he took it,, he prob knew his lawyer wasnt going to help him in any way well wait he did help but it was pointing him towards the door and trying to guide him to the door to hell ?  you dont touch someone and direct them to the door when its not your job to do so his job was to defend him and keep himm away from the door the way i look at it it was assult and he defended himself ,,

This black guy had a right to represent himself...unless of course he was to illiterate, which kind of seems to be the case. He did not have to use a public defender. I was appointed counsel, but refused him and opted to represent myself. Filed a motion with The State District Court, was called into court and asked various questions by the judge. And then given leave to proceed as a pro se litigant. I studied all the law surrounding the case I was being charged with, and filed all my own motions and took the case to a jury. I was facing 10 years ended up getting found guilty and received 5 years, running concurrent with the fifty I already had for murder. Served twenty years on the fifty and I am currently on parole until 2031. Been out 9 years now....

So I guess representing yourself didn't really work out all that well for you did it.

Lawyers today in this violent society are like all other public servant's teachers, bus drivers, etc. They need to just quit doing these types of jobs. I seen where an elderly bus driver got sucker punched by a teenager and it knocked him unconscious and he released his foot off the brake and the bus began to roll and almost ran into a construction site barricade. These punks who think they are bad a++es just because they sucker punch people. Need to have something really bad happen to them afterwards.

Public Defender? Hmm.... he should just tell the other inmates that he probably won't be able to represent them as well as he could have, now that this guy's rattled his brain.

"...yeah. Sorry about that, Rocko. Prob'ly means you'll get an extra six years or so. Wish that guy hadn't slugged me -- I might have been able to get you probation. Say "hi" to him for me when you get back to the prison."

After going through a 4 year divorce process... I must admit, I got no pleasure in seeing this man get hit, but it certainly didn't sadden me either.

Let's not forget the original crime. I hope he gets told NO! at every early release hearing.

Shocked? Not this former police officer. I've come to expect it from the criminal (e.g Animal) class.

He probably wasn't shackled in court THAT time. He probably was when the additional 6 months were added to his sentence.
