Maybe she is 42 and single because no man wanted to propose to her because she is opinionated and arrogant and mean spirited? Who wants to wake up to THAT everyday?

True that.

I would love to be with a spouse that is an intelligent, talented, funny woman like Sarah Silverman! Did I mention she's also extremely beautiful! ~KeninDenver

By faith, you must mean belief in something without the presence of any evidence whatsoever? Great strategy.

Unlike your party, we are able to separate our religious views and those views about what's best for our country. Typical conservative, it's party over their own country every time.

Another political faux pas is how many Jewish people will vote "democrat" in any given election. The "democrat" party is no friend of Israel. Netanyahu even came out and stated it, and urged Jewish Americans to vote for Romney, lol!!

Here's some numbers for you, queeny. I live in a area where there are predominantly Jewish families (I'm not). A recent poll showed that 87% of them were registered Democrat and that of those 94% were going to vote for Obama. LOL that!

Neanyahu would support anyone who would join him in a blood bath against Iran. Sure, it's scary that they have nuclear material, but we did that once before and found bupkis (that's Yiddish for "nothing", thought I'd translate since you obviously have no clue what the Jewish mind set is). So, laugh in your teacup and let the grown ups handle this one, okay, sweetie?

Jewish Americans are not adolescent like 35% of the Republican voters.
They will vote for whom they please based in the cold, hard facts, not emotions.

42?!? Jesus Christ. Sarah looks amazing at her age. Proof that not having kids keeps you young.

It just goes to show that religious bigots are not limited to fundamentalist Christians and Muslims. Perhaps it would not be too wide of the mark to consider that maybe religion is more trouble than it's worth.
07:20 PM on 10/21/2012
Only a very small percentage of any religious group are a problem. Live and let live.

Tell that to the people in small communities throughout the Bible Belt that are trying to fend off the efforts of fundamentalist Christians seeking to impose the teaching of Creationism and/or the removal of the study of evolution in science classes.
If it were simply a matter of "live and let live" then we wouldn't have people pushing for prayer in schools and posting the Ten Commandments in public buildings. We wouldn't have people insisting that "In God We Trust" must be posted on our buildings, our currency and our national symbols.
I'm willing to "let live" with whomever wants to keep their superstitions to themselves.

You have completely missed the point that this is about religious intolerance and misogyny. Perhaps you should stick with subjects closer to your intellectual capabilities. I'm sure there's a Family Circus cartoon somewhere that you could try to puzzle through.

Hey! Don't dis Family Circus!
Have you ever actually TRIED to follow Billy's path around the neighborhood?!?

wow, some truly sick people on here.

i guess by complementing her, ( you are driven....passionate ) and praying for her, is f'ng with her?

it is exactly that mind set, and hers,(that hate for anyone that disagrees with you)
that i'm sure the rabbi was refering to. nothing positive about calling people hateful names, and slamming people with a different opinion

Which brings us to you. I hate you because I disagree with you. Really?

So, if I speak up for someone who is being persecuted for being a woman (how dare she!), choosing to not have kids (what, is she mental?) and for speaking her mind politically (Ok, that's just proof she needs to be institutionalized) then, of course, if you think otherwise, I hate you. Or is it that someone is calling out out on your misogyny and obvious political leanings? Perhaps you should consider who the really "sick" people are before commenting. Oh, and the Rabbi was not referring to her hatred of people who disagree with her. Perhaps one should read the article before commenting on how people are reacting?

Did anyone watch the scissor sheldon video? I bet Her daddy is so proud! What a CLASSY lady???

I guess to be rude a crude and nasty is the "new " sign of a great Jewish lady in the eyes of her father?
I think the rabbi was a bit out of line BUT how hard is it to come the aide of her virtues? I would be saddened if my daughters acted this way.

Perhaps comedy is not your forte'?

Sarah Silverman has been nominated for Emmy's, Grammy's and other awards too numerous to mention. She is not my cup of tea, but that does not detract from her comedic abilities.

I think you should try to gauge the temperature of the room before commenting, and perhaps come into the 21st century and look at the comedy mainstream as it currently exists.

Still, this is not the first rude, crude comic who has gained popularity. Don Rickles, George Carlin and Lenny Bruce (the forerunner of modern comedy) all were crude. OH, that's right, they are men. So a women can only be prim and proper and never curse or be rude?

So, you have a hard time finding hand cream for those dragged knuckles or do you just soak in your sanctimony?

If she were my daughter, I'd go to her performances and laugh. I would also know that her stage persona is not necessarily her real one. But that's just me and I have a brain.
11:32 AM on 10/22/2012
I guess you are right in a way. I do not see a woman grinding on a stuffed animal and offering to "scissor" a man till he ejaculates as funny. It also was not part of a comedy routine but as a web political ad (she has done many for Obama in 2008 and 2012).
I do not care if she is a woman or a man. If a man were to offer himself sexually to a woman for thier vote or money for political PACS and was humping a stuffed animal , I would find it just as bad.
11:34 AM on 10/22/2012
Secondly she uses her religion (if she truly has any) in the ad to make her "more appealing" to the man? That is a bit disgusting to most anyone that views religion in a positive light as well. If it were part of her act in a club then I would not go and I would not care. Instead, like I said it is a political ad on the web.

"Is it too early to name Donald Silverman dad of the year?" This one ignorant question by you is exactly what the Rabbi is speaking of. Lack of integrity and common sense. Yet you think it is one of the greatest things a father can say and do for his daughter. In other words, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The fact her "hubby" is doing so well does not mean a hill of beans for her, well except she married a person of interest. So if your criteria for being father of the year is this idi ot that is your problem.

Considering her scathing humor, I doubt that Sarah needs anyone coming to her defense. She is perfectly capable of tearing Rabbi Rosenblatt a new one all on her own.
