It is interesting to know that a "minority" was able to cause a "major" corporation to recall a t-shirt. It gives me hope...."Power to the people".

Another form of censorship. And it is accepted. Very sad. I have always said that, if a phrase hurts your feelings, try using it for something else that is good. Pretty soon it loses its original meaning. Manifest Destiny could be a power phrase that means fulfill your dreams. Our problem is we are too PC.
As I see it from here

Hey, it worked to salve our collective consciences when it was originally used. Why not now?
09:09 PM on 10/16/2012
Protest is censorship?
Wow, wierd. Is ice cold where you live?

GIVE ME A BREAK! We are such an overly sensitive society. This was an ideology and yet these people that are so upset and saying it relates to genocide. It is a tshirt. I guess tomorrow I won't be allowed to wear my tatas for breast cancer shirt because it is degrading to women.

no fool, it CELEBRATES genocide. the designer clearly identified his sentiment with an unambiguous tweet - "manifest destiny: survival of the fittest". a call to social darwinism as a justification for the real history of genocide. it may not offend your sensitivities because of your obvious ignorance on the matter, but it is truly morally repugnant to a lot of people who find racist extermination of entire nations of people based on their supposed lack of humanity an inappropriate celebratory jingoism for hipster-gear.

Any shirt / bumper sticker with the words "Democratic Party" is offensive to me. We all the cru-el past history of the Democratic Party during the 1800's in the south all the way through the 1960's.

But the Che Guevara tees are perfectly acceptable. Where does the madness stop?

I guess it could have been worse, it could have been a Crucifix in a jar of urine. Oh... wait. That's ok.
07:01 PM on 10/16/2012
It could have been worse. They could have had an Indian - oh, well, not PC, like the shirt - a Native American - wearing it ...

They SAID they removed them from the shelves, but they ARE still being sold, and several photos are coming out proving it. They said yesterday they were being pulled, but at 11.45 p/m last night, they were still on display, visible from the street. Today, people have called asking if they have this shirt in stock, and were told that yes, they do!!!!! THEY LIED.
Go outside!
06:41 PM on 10/16/2012
One company with hundreds of locations per state equals hundreds of thousands of t-shirts that need to be pulled. I'm not defending the store, but maybe you should allow more than 24 hours before you start tossing around accusations. Not every manager get's every memo at the same time.
07:25 PM on 10/16/2012
Good for them. Screw the PC dolts.
06:23 PM on 10/16/2012
It's water under the bridge. Decrying it now makes little to no sense. Study it, learn from it and move on because the world has changed. A T-shirt that has the phrase "Manifest Destiny" is no more a threat than one that says "Tora! Tora! Tora!".
