End Corporate Rule - ORGANIZE!
12:18 PM on 10/20/2012
If you object to unfair treatment, you're an ingrate. If you seek equity and fair consideration, you're uppity. If you demand union security, you're un-American. If you rebel against repressive management tactics, they will lynch and scalp you. But if you are passive and patient, they will take advantage of both.

-- Congressman William Clay, Sr.

And Wisconsin unions are proving that right now.

As are unions all over the US.

The recall effort never stood much of a chance. What it did accomplish was to galvanize labor in Wisconsin.

And Wisconsin is bright blue today.

VOTING FOR OBAMA.

Kochwalker and St Vincent De Paul Ryan have proved irrelevant against the power of labor.

LOL. You've got it backwards. Union greed against the taxpayer has obviously galvanized the taxpayers against you as evidenced by Walker's win. Wisconsin has been a union stronghold for decades and is now, obviously, swinging in the other direction.

Wisconsin was the first state to allow unionization of public sector employees. Now it's the first state to limit the public sector unionistas. Good trend. Even CA citizens are starting to see it.

I'm enjoying Mister Obama's standing in the polls (over 70% on 538) and the fact that Wisconsin is going to help elect him president.

Aren't you?

No?

Get used to it.

Perhaps this is the beginning of unions doing the same thing that Christian conservatives did during the 80's: directly supporting candidates that allied with them first and foremost, or better yet, are of them. This begins to correct some of the profound political mistakes the American union movement has made since the 70's: the foremost being that corporate management is their eternal enemy and will do anything to destroy them.

Here in our town, 3 companies became non-union. The employees now work for $9.85/hr. with no pension, no benefits. Those employees are now among those who rely on food stamps to feed their families and use the ER for medical needs. They still vote Republican. The company owners, who have seen their personal wealth skyrocket and who are now mega-millionaires now that they can keep more of the company's money for themselves, tell their employees to vote for Republicans or they'll have to close the business down completely. This is the new America.

That's what Bain does...And then uses the cash to pay themselves big bucks.

At least when unions used to lend money to the mafia to build casinos in Vegas they got a good return on their pension money...That's more than you can say for the pension bandits at Bain.
11:40 AM on 10/20/2012
Unions do not cut pensions. Unions are groups of working people who join together to have some bargaining power against business owners who would otherwise abuse them. Don't let them fool you. It is the companies and business owners who cut pensions, even after they agree to the terms. Republicans consider contracts to be binding, unless they don't like the terms. Remember how the bankers on wall street screamed about not getting their bonus after running the country into the ground?

Republicans tipped thier hand in 2010 and the unions are fighting back. Good, strong unions equal a strong democracy and are a real barrier to the almighty power of money in politics. Republicans like to claim unions drive business away, thats funny as business in Europe and Japan have no problem with unions. The real goal of the GOP is to attack the Dems voter base, and unions are a part of it.

Oil people make money from oil...Unions make money from dues collected and then cut pensions without notice. There is a huge difference between a private company living on profits then a Unuion living off the backs of their workers and free spending vast amounts of their workers money and when it doesn't work out...who pays for it....certainly not the unions. The workers pay for their blunders

Yes unions need to make people understand what
they are about.  Unions need to expand with great force and push back on
the private sector.  It has become abundantly clear that corporations want to make average America disappear and become slaves to their industries.
Work for less without benefits’ so they the 1% make huge profits.  That’s
how they stay in control.  They have
done a good job by controlling media.  I
think unions should branch with Talmundo and launch a networking blitz to put
Private Sector in check.
