If this storm will be blamed on Obama one would have to concede that the man has powerful connections!

If a light bulb burns out at a refinery, the price spikes...........besides......this is an East Coast storm........explain how any of that affects gas prices on the West Coast, when none of their gas comes from the East..........it's all just a Shell game.....they know they have us over a barrell..........

All-electric vehicles only work for people who live and work in the city. I live in NM and drive to other towns 75 or more miles away at least once a week. Even in Albuquerque, which is spread across more than 20 miles in any direction, there is ONE charging station. None anywhere else.

I have been driving a Prius for the last four years and get a minimum of 48 mph. Most of the time, I get 51 - 52 mpg.

You have got to be kidding me - just another excuse to raise the price of gas..... Wonder who decided that move? At 6.5 % of the gas made being done on the east coast as CBS reports, I guess folks will have to start walking again..... OH wait, this means the whole country will have to be hit by higher prices due to a storm on the east coast - Lets see, was there not a problem with a refinery in Calif. that casue the price of gas to go up all over the country - STRANGE how just one area effects the whole contries gasoline price..... Where are the new refineries being built to stop this effect - I got it NONE THANKS to the EPA - sort of like the coal fired electric generating plants - you can build it but you will go BROKE - obama's own words....

Dems should not worry about gas prices they should worry about election day results and voter turn out if this storm hit NYC in case you didnt already know the State of New York has a good deal of Republican voters which is normally overshadowed by NYC heavy Democrat voting block.
12:06 PM on 10/27/2012
Republican voters have and drive Ford trucks, ( The auto Co that didn't need a bailout) they will get to the polls. Not so sure about those Libs and their GM products like the Volt. Batteries suck in cold and wet weather.

every time gas goes up they blame something . all it is the fuel company has no check and blance so the country pays billions so they get rich on the pore and devastated nothing elses

The storm will, unfortunately, give the media plenty to talk about and avoid mention of Benghazigate heading into November 6; after that they may become semi-legitimate in their reporting.

Yes, even though no refineries are effected, the oil co. are chomping at the bit for any reason to justify an imaginary price hike.....They are nothing short of criminal ! Socialism would nip this problem in the bud !....Gas, food, energy......the three basic needs of most Americans. Control these, and the citizens become your indentured servants. For life.
10:46 AM on 10/27/2012
Look at the bright side. It will cost obama votes.

How you figure that ?....POTUS does not control the price of gas anymore than the weather....And you think these will cost him votes ?....wow..That must be strong tea.
10:57 AM on 10/27/2012
You like Socialism so much - then why don't you move to Greece, Spain, Russia, Cuba or even to the great country on the northern part of South America - Sounds like you would fit right in.....

You might be a dip ?...C'mon....where did I say I like socialism ?...Making a point only ! You did get the point ?...Remind yourself that when oil was last at $85 a barrel...gas was $2 a gallon.......Big oil is taking us all for a ride ....bend over !

A moth farts, and gas prices rise as Stock Market Speculators smell blood in the water and lots of money in their pockets. Any excuse is a good excuse to cause prices on gasoline to rise, but I especially love how some people are saying Obama is glad for this storm. People are absolutely ridiculous and void of intelligence to see the bigger picture with. If they had two brain cells to rub together to make a synaptic spark with they would be dangerous.

OweBlameA is on his weak knees thanking god for this storm. It gives his campaign wing of the mainstream media another reason to ignore the fact he let people die in Libya by not sending people in to help because he was afraid something might go wrong during an election season ,god forbid. The fact that Brian Williams didn't even ask him about this should be the height of embarrasment for the new Pravda. The only people asking tough questions are Univision and local tv stations and The liar in chief dodges the question and says that's not what this election is about. Sorry , but it is . It is about your lack of leadership actually.
10:38 AM on 10/27/2012
Yup, the truth is leaking out ... in little bite-sized morsels ... but Williams should turn in his reporter's credentials after that nauseating interview. And even when asked a bloated softball question Obama talked in circles ... Benghazigate, but it won't fully explode until after November 6 thanks to the media's passion for this man.

Seriously, EVERYTHING causes gas prices to rise, a tornado, a hurricane, people looking at an oil rig, birds flying overhead, someone stubbing their toe, a new book by JK Rowling, sunshine, rain, high tide, low tides and the release of Madagascar 3 on Blu-ray. How do these oil companies make money with such volatility in the price of their goods?

I'm interested in finding something, anything that causes gas prices to drop.
