It came out of the faucet that way...

I had always came to the conclusion that what a man his most sexy was his wallet.

Pardon? Could you say that again in English?

Abel Ferrell:

I left out a word, typical of me when typing too fast:

I had always come to the conclusion that what women find most sexy about a man is his wallet.

(thanks for bringing it my attention, I just tidied it up a little better.)

If this study was done over a long period of time, the scientists would have discovered what every man in a long term relationshipalready knows. There simply is no special time of the month when women are more hyper-critical of their men. It usually occurs when men are feeling good about themselves and are in a more cheerful mood, i.e. when we least expect it.

Yeah, how DARE we men enjoy anything about life not provided by our distaff partner?

Women find fault with nice guys even they're not fertile.

ain't a bit of drama good though ? it can a little addictive but a moderate messy drama can spice up things.

No we don't, but let's not mess with a good reason to diss all men.

A deep voice and dominant behavior don't help. The only thing that ever counts is an attractive masculine face.
06:33 PM on 10/27/2012
Don't forget a large functioning member! That counts!
08:21 AM on 10/28/2012
Sometimes. The point being, women's *extreme* preferences for good looking men have nothing to do with those men having deep voices or large members. Only the face actually counts.
10:43 PM on 10/27/2012
nope, that's not the only thing that ever counts.

nice arms, chest, and butt are important, as well.

True, but secondary.
Ignorance stirs my inner demon...Sorry.

I just read through the article on this study. It's crap. You have subjective measures (rather than operationalized, objective measures) and no controls for confounds (factors that may contribute to an unfavorable view of the partner) that can be seen in the article. The study actually looked at closeness rather than finding fault; the study does not investigate why women in relationships with supposedly attractive men felt closer to them than women in relationships with supposedly stable men. I honestly don't see how these researchers jumped to these conclusions, and it's irritating to see attraction oversimplified to this garbage that Haselton and Larson are calling research.
12:03 AM on 10/27/2012
Other research concludes the same effects. Women treat attractive men better, period, especially in between periods.
01:37 AM on 10/28/2012
There are no studies about how women actually treat men in this particular genre. The studies are lab type where people are being asked their opinions.

It's also pretty obvious that attractive women get treated better than less attractive women by men, never mind what people in this comments thread say.

So how does this study relate to the study about voting that CNN had to disown? If women judge men differently when they are ovulating, will they judge political candidates differently?

Really, this sort of article should be banned from HuffPost. Scientific studies have no place here.

The voting study compared TWO GROUPS OF DIFFERENT WOMEN. One presumably was in the high fertility stage, one in the low fertility stage. But the study (which I read) never tells us how similar the two groups of women were otherwise. The findings suggest to me that they are not adequately similar. For instance, the single women in the low fertility group were more religious than the married women in that group. The reverse was the case in the high fertility group. From this the study concluded that the religious levels of women flip flop over their cycles. But the data is from two different groups of women.
